As everybody noticed typical English mixture. Very nice. Latakia is less noticed for me than in My mixture or Early Morning Pipe.

An excellent smoking mixture that exemplifies to my mind what is meant by the catch-all "English blend." London Mixture is a perfectly balanced blend, with lovely and mellow Virginias while the Turkish and latakia are in perfect proportion to make this tobacco interesting without being overbearing in any one aspect. I can see how many English lovers could make this an all-day smoke as it is a well-behaved weed overall and will not tire the palate. While my preference is for 965, this smoked well enough to satisfy me time and again, and I'm sure a tin with some age would be amazing. I found the ribbon cut to be a bit stringy, so packing required a bit more attention than I am used to. Also, I prefer slightly drier weed than what comes in many a tin, and some airing out improved the smoking of this blend for me. I recommend it without hesitation.

This is the first Dunhill blend to cause me to pause. It has all of the necessary elements for a fine English Blend and it smokes fairly cool.

But it came across as a bit too thick or heavy. Normally I would expect this to translate as a richness or body, but found myself put off but the general texture of the smoke.

All in all, I enjoyed it but will have to put it aside and come back again.

I will start by admitting that I compare all English tobaccos to Dunhill 965 which I think is the best there is. With that said, I think London Mix. is reasonably good but nothing to get too excited about.

As with most Dunhill tobaccos, it is well packaged, well mixed, nicely cut for ease in packing and lighting, and consists of high quality leaf. It is a nice blend of Turkish and Virginia with a bit of Latakia. No one tobacco overpowers the others, although I think the Turkish is most pronounced. It burns to a clean ash and has a nice natural English tobacco flavor.

I just think this tobacco is too "basic" for me. It is certainly a good example of an English/Latakia blend, but there are quite a few of those out there. I want something special in my tobacco before I can give it an "A" grade. 965 gets an "A" due to the addition of Brown Cavendish. Penzance gets an "A" due to its rich smokey qualities. London Mix. gets a solid "B".

This blend is cut a bit on the fine side for me and as a result seemed a bit harsh. As a big fan of english blends this was a big disapointment. 20 years in the tin might smooth it enough for me.

London Mixture from Dunhill for me is the ultimate english blend. It is my favorite Dunhill blend and I think my desert island blend. It is pleasing to look at and easy to fill my pipe with. Lights easily and stays lit. The flavor becomes richer at about the half way point, but the whole way through is glorious and very satisfying. I love the nose of this tobacco and find it very easy to smoke and definitely not overpowering. It is exceptionally balanced with orientals, latakia and virginia tobaccos, with none overpowering the others but with one being more prominent than the others at different times during the smoke, or with different bowls providing a different experience. four stars.

A nice light tobacco for mid day . I like to smoke this tobacco when I am on the go , though care needs to be taken not to smoke it too hot with the moderate Virginia content that it has.
