HU Tobacco Casablanca Feeling
(3.00)
Casablanca – a classic in cinema history, exciting, suspenseful, romantic. All these attributes apply to Virginia ready rubbed flake as well. Its herbal spicy, citrus flowery aroma is exciting and seductive and blends perfectly with the Virginia‘s tartly sweet taste. A great, fascinating broken for friends and lovers of the tartly sweet tastes. Just like the movie about Rick, Ilsa and Laszlo, “Casablanca Feeling“ has what it takes to become a classic.
"I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship."
Notes: Aromatics: Herbs & Hickory Nut.

First impressions while smoking the first bowl:
Creamy, nutty, herbal! Just another of those Hans Wiedemann """"aromatics"""" that really shouldn't be called this way if you take a look at what's usually considered an "aromatic" over here in Germany...
The scent from my sample-bag is very unique. Herbal-ish, though I couldn't name which herbs are in it. A gentle note of nuts and some sweetness, alongside a minor floral quality. One person suggested Burley in the mix, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was a tiny bit of it in it.
First puffs are dominated by the herbal qualities. Very interesting, totally new taste for my taste-buds and quite pleasing! There's a slight floralness to the smoke as well. After few puffs the nuttiness kicks and and oh my... it's sublime! I was instantly stoked by its creaminess! Like some really aromatic tasting nuts dipped in whipped cream or something along these lines... very, very nice, I love this aroma! Very pleasant room notes, you'll find that creaminess in the room note as well, among the herbal qualities.
The Virginias are everpresent as a foundation, mild sweetness, pleasing spiciness to round off a very interesting and unique blend. I will smoke this again, and I will add, that I'm far,.... far, far away from being "an aromatic guy"... but in the way Hans does "aromatics"? I'm in....! I guess "real aromatics" are supposed to be like this and not the goopy, non-tobacco-tasting mess some blenders call "aromatic tobaccos" - some just don't deserve the term "tobacco".. if you're like me and love your aromatic blends with the flavourings added light-handedly... this - or HU's aromatics in general are for you!
I'll add a final verdict once I puffed my way through the sample bag, which could take a bit, since I smoke flavoured blends only on occasion - until then: 4 stars, this is quite unique and refreshing to me!
