English latakia blends are my favorite and this is a very nice example. Eng 220 is a more full bodied version of English 110 and what Peretti apparently means by that is the blender had a heavier hand when he mixed in the latakia. The latakia predominates and I would describe the mix as somewhere between a medium and heavy latakia blend. Ultimately the latakia predominated to the point the flavor was not as complex and balanced as English 110 for me.
Still, a great smoke, particularly outdoors.

The rich Cyprian Latakia provides a wealth of smoke, earth, wood, floralness, a fair amount of musty sweetness, vegetation, and light spice as the lead component. The Turkish offers a lot of earth, wood, herbs, vegetation, floralness, some buttery sweetness, spice, and mild sourness. It’s a supporting player. The aspects of the red Virginia are a burst of tangy dark fruit, earth, wood, bread, sugar, mild vegetation, tart and tangy citrus, light grass, and a pinch of spice. It’s a step above being a condiment. The strength is medium. The nic-hit is a rung below that mark. The taste level is a slot past the medium threshold. No chance of bite or harshness, and has few rough edges. Burns cool and clean at a moderate pace with a very consistent sweet and smoky, floral, spicy, sour flavor that extends to the lightly lingering, pleasant after taste. The room note is a notch stronger. Barely leaves any dampness in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Despite its depth, the sweetness insures that it can be an all day smoke. Three and a half stars.
