I did not enjoy this tobacco. I found it too moist and bitey, and the flavor overly sweet and unpleasant. It's a little harsh, and I get no real tobacco flavor. It doesn't burn well due to the high moisture and heavy casing, and it tends to smoke hot, even after it's been left to dry. It goops-up my pipes and leaves a ghost-residue. It's what I'd expect from a bulk or pouch aromatic like Borkum Riff. I guess I've learned that blends heavily cased in whiskey, cognac, or in this case, rum, are just not to my taste.

Very wet (sopping wet) on opening the tin. Smelt good, but clearly artificially flavoured. Taking forever to dry properly.
Taste a little like shisha pipe tobacco. Flavours mixed and come and go, some pleasant, some unpleasant. Alternating between sweetness, chemicals, wet sweaty socks and sweaty gym shorts.
No nice overall, will probably dump the remainer of the tin. Will not try Sutliff again 🙁

Maybe it's just me but I have no luck with Sutliff aromatic blends. The day I open the tin the aroma and aromatic taste are there. After it is put in a jar and sets for a couple of days it taste of nothing but cheap, weak Burley. BP is not the only one that I have had this problem with its just the latest. I think I'm done with Sutliff aromatics. When I'm hungry for a aromatic I believe I'll stick with Boswell blends.

Just about as moist as chewing tobacco, practically unsmokable. I couldn't say it's aroma and flavor were rum-like. It had the typical dark-fired black aromatic cavendish character with dark vanilla and coumarin-like notes. The color of the whole blends was almost uniformly dark to black from the casing and there was no way to discern the virginia and burley components. One can get this basic flavor in many other aromatic black cavendish blends from Sutliff. I suppose this must have been at the bottom of a production run and unfortunately it bespeaks of poor quality control verging on indifference.
