This is a first rate aromatic blend in all aspects. If you like a sweet tasting aromatic tobacco as I do, you will like this one. I like a lot of aromatic tobacco smokers like tobaccos where the pouch note are the same as the taste. This is much harder to do than you would think. 4noggins has done this in all of their aromatic blends. The pouch note is very berry scented I detect more maple I think than other reviews have. The taste is the very same as the pouch note. The blend smokes very well, good burn excellent flavor and I don't recall any problems with re lights, I have to admit I was so captivated by the flavor I may have not noticed. It burned all the way to the bottom and the flavor was good until the very end the ash was dry for the most part. The tobacco I received was at the perfect moisture level for an aromatic blend, not to dy and not to moist. This tobacco is a must try for sweet aromatic smokers.

I'm such a fan of this blend now, I had no choice but to log in and review. I am, and remain, primarily an aromatic lover. Surprisingly, I never opted to try a 'berry' blend until recently. I'm so glad I did, and Lord Methley is now one of my true favourites.
The scent of the tobacco in the bag is exactly as advertised and as described by other reviewers. Very "berry-esque", and even as an aromatic lover I was surprised at how good this stuff smells. This doesn't always translate well once lit, so I was cautiously optimistic before I packed a pipe with it. I do trust 4noggins quality after all.
Initial lighting and early on, I distinctly remember thinking to myself "meh, s'ok" and then settled in with a book and started reading. After awhile, I started to get whiffs of the room note (which doesn't always happen) and realized I was smelling what I was tasting. Not bad at all! By the end of the first bowl I wanted another, but actually felt very satisfied and continued my day. Great taste, good room note! The next day I bypassed every other tobacco I had on hand and went for the Methley, and repeated that daily until the bag was empty. Didn't get bored of it all, and I was quite disappointed to run out.
I don't think I've found my holy grail yet, but once my next order arrives in the next week I don't plan to be out of this again for a long time. Highly recommended for aromatic fans!

Tin Note: Its a Blazing summer day your walking in the park and at the corner of your eye you spot a Snow Cone Stand. Close to your face your about to take a taste and poof that amazing cherry smell hits your nose and almost pains your sweet tooth. That's what I smell from this sweet tobacco.
Initial Light: As soon as the flame touch the ribbon it burst out into a flavor making machine spewing out cherry and vanilla in the form of smoke. i had no trouble getting this pipe lit, evenly to boot.
Mid-Smoke: The smoke is still going strong and flavor is a constant pleasure goes in smooth and comes out like you are blowing out cotton candy. The pipe isn't the least bit hot and i have experienced zero bite from this blend. However i did receive a little bit of gurgle which if it wasn't for the Volk pipe i would have suspected it to be worse but this dissipated quickly.
Bottom of the Bowl: Flavor was starting to mix with an ashy like taste and the bowl was getting really hot so i dumped the burnt tobacco out and let the pipe rest for two minutes. Upon continuing i noticed the pipe to my surprise was still lit! wonderful.
Room Note: No one around but my furry pal Roscoe so i figured what the hell and i asked him. I think he wagged his tail 4 times and tried to eat my pipe so i guess its good.
Dottle: Nice Ashy finish again i suspect due to the pipe i was using it has a chamber that catches the moister and a stem that does not touch the inside walls preventing goop from entering.
Smoking Duration: A very pleasant 30min it was a windy day and i believe mother nature helped in smoking my pipe a bit.
Overall: Its a bit bias in the fact that i have always loved this blend it was my first real tobacco and will always have a place in my briar heart. a big shout out to Rich for making such a pleasant aromatic.
Thank you for reading, I do recommend this blend to anyone who enjoys aromatics its always readily available at 4noggins and i always have some in my cellar.

As with most 4noggins blends I have tried, the description they provide says it all.
The tobacco is an attractive light tan and dark-brown-to-black ribbon that packs and lights easily. The cherry smell is fairly pronounced in the bag, but deeper whiffs marry the cherry with a butterscotch undertone and a faint, grassy smell of the Virginias.
Smoked, the cherry is so faint as to be almost nonexistent and doesn't interfere with the tobacco flavor. The Cavendish is apparent, but blends so well with the Burley and Virginia that it is hard to tell where one leaves off and another begins. Overall, a mild smoke, but with a very pleasant flavor. Not a complicated tobacco, and does not change throughout the bowl, but ideal for an all day blend if you want something easy to smoke that tastes good to you and smells great to those around you.

I decided to give this blend a try the same evening that I received it. Upon opening the bag, it smelled very cherry and berryish it was actually so sweet and syrupy smelling that I was a little wary about how this would translate to the smoke. it packed and lit very easily. Boy was I surprised, because this stuff is awesome. Upon the 1st light it was very tasty, it stayed lit for a good while and it tasted delicious. It was the perfect balance between moist and dry. Very smooth, mellow, it tastes a lot like it smells out of the bag, like a blackberry pie, I detect a bit of vanilla as well. I sipped it nice and easy and it never bit me. If you are a fan of aro's, then you should give Lord Methley's a try.

I've been on the lookout for a fruity aromatic that isn't overwhelmingly cherry. The tin note is that of wild berries and the topping taste is similar but not so heavy as to not allow the tobacco taste to come through.
I have re-ordered this blend and added it to my rotation.

My first try at a product offered by 4Noggins, and I must say it is very surprising. Although I can not remember the name of the blend, my Grandfather used to smoke a Peterson aromatic very similar to this back in the 80s.
Upon opening the pack, the aroma is wonderful, a sweet berry/nut fragrance, with a light hint of chocolate. The tobacco out of the pack needs a bit of drying out (15-30 mins), packing and lighting goes very smoothly once it has had some drying time.
Upon lighting, the taste is very mellow and has no bite. If smoked slowly, it keeps lit easily, and on average it might require 1 or 2 relights. If smoked quickly, it will heat up the bowl quite a bit.
Folks around me really enjoy the room note, stating that it is very pleasant and light smelling. When I finish a bowl, I'm left with a nice smell in my beard... almost tempting me to go for another round.
It has become part of my top 3 tobaccos, and can easily be a daily smoke.
4Noggins has a definite winner with this beautiful, mellow and well balanced blend. I enjoy English blends as well as Aromatics, and this is one worth trying out.

Lord Methley's. lol. Love the name!
I thought the Tewksbury Match had an intense pouch aroma! At first, I thought these smelled very similar. But after comparing the aroma side by side, the blackberry and alcohol stand out compared to the cherry of the Tewksbury.
Cut is fairly rough ribbon, but no large or unmanageable chunks to speak of. The moisture content is great, no burn issues to be had. Lights and packs with ease.
The initial flavoring is pretty intense. This reminds me of a jacked-up version of Boswell's Berry Cobbler. However, it's smooth, flavorful and not cloying in the least.
The Virginia offers some sweet grassiness, and the burley offers some body and a creamy mouthfeel. This blend is sweet, I cannot tell if that's from the blk cavendish or the topping. Buttery smooth, zero bite, and burns clean and cool. I think this would be a great blend to give to a brand new pipe beginning their pipe smoking journey. Its flavorful, burns great, and isn't complicated in the least.
Boswell Berry Cobbler has been a go-to of mine for years. Now I'm adding Methley's to the rotation as well.
