1776 Tobacco Co Old Dominion

(3.00)
The first and still the finest, all black smoking blend. Unsurpassed mildness makes this a blend for cigarette smokers changing to a pipe. Lightly aromatic, charcoal toasted, and 100% Virginia leaf.

I just got this Tobacco today. I opened the pouch and was greeted by a smell that was pleasing & sweet. It was kind of a wood camp fire type smell. Like camping out in the early morning on the water. This Tobacco is black as night and was moist. I thought it was just about right and not to moist. I packed a bowl in my RDB half bent bulldog as soon as I put the box down, it packed really nice. At the charing light. I got a nice tobacco taste and it was sweet but not to sweet. The room note was nice and nuttie kind of. The sweetness stays though out the whole bowl. This tobacco gets a litte stronger about mid bowl but the sweetness remains. It's a nice sweet cant put my finger on it sweetness. I did not have to relight this. It burned slow and easy. no bite, a all , full flaver from begining to end. I will be adding this to my stock. I would recamend this tobacco highly. Jack came up with a vary fine blend here. A smooth smoke. It's nice and relaxing a peacefull. a everyday smoke. As my pipe cools I think this would be a wonderfull evening night cap smoke. It would also be nice anytime of the day. The Ladies also will enjoy the room note. At least my wife and girls do. may your pipe always smoke smooth. Jimmy

As an English smoker I approached this blend very cautiously and almost with my mind already made up. I opened the pouch and the aroma was delicious to say the least. Been there before and then smoking it is a different thing.

Not in this case! I lit it up and it was as fine a tobacco as I have ever smoked. The taste was incredible and the pipe stayed lit easily burning to a easy to remove white ash. There is NO bite and the puffing is easy.

I usually relight my tobacco about 2/3 down but I smoked this right to the bottom without stoping. Just slow and easy. Wow what a smoke! This tobacco with my 1776Tavern and Pease Odyssey I have my rotation.

When someone delcares that their tobaccos are made of the finest tobaccos - one is tempted to think "Yeah, right!" But such might be the case of Jack Peterson's "1776 Old Dominion."

The tobacco blend is superb. Notes seem to hit it right with notes of vanilla, cream, cinnamon, coffee, and toasted nuts.

The cinnamon note is more apparent at the start of the bowl - but that slowly disapates as one progresses throught the smoke. The creaminess remains throughout as one is treated to a mild aromatic that is of medium strength.

Although described as a mild aromatic - the tobacco blend itself lends itself to a lovely medium almost full taste on the palate. And yet afterwards there is no pipe funk left in the bowl or in the mouth. Absolutely no bite whatsoever - So, one does not have to worry about "Godzilla Breath" or ugly halitosis that seems to plague so many pipe tobacco blends out there on the market.

My only faulting of this blend actually lies in the description - as I wonder if the word cigarette might be something that could turn a lot of potential buyers off. The blend is excellent and whether one is 'transitioning' to pipe from other smokables seems to be a moot point.

Black as sin and pure heaven in the bowl. This could be another tobaco blend that will become a permanent fixture in my rotation of tobaccos.

Jack really hit it out of the park on this one.

Highly recommended and 4 stars with 2 thumbs up!
