I'm not a huge fan of Aromatics, but this one was nice. If you smoke it too quick it has a bite and can get a bit of vinegar, but behaves well for the most part. The cocoa and pecan's take center-stage for sure and the sweetness gets a bit much at times, but it's perfect for a festive winter's night. It will ghost your pipe, so be warned, and it also can make your pipe goopey, but other than that this is a fantastic tobacco.

Not having had last year's version, if there in fact is any difference with the descriptions being virtually the same, I must say in either case that this is indeed a very good aromatic for the season. It seems quite moist upon cracking open the tin, but it smokes with little tongue bite and absolutely no gurgling throughout the pipe. It burns down to a nice dry white ash and produces a nice quantity of smoke. It really is a nice tasting weed and no complaints were heard from anyone close by. The room note is first rate. It does make for a nice diversion from the Christmas Cheer. I would recommend this fine weed to anyone.

the tin i tried was marked 2011 with the same description as previous years. i cant distinguish the flavors from one another they just sort of blend together to make an artificial christmasy aroma and taste if that makes any since. it was not in any way offensive but this is probably the only time of year i would enjoy it. i would assume this is a great choice for aromatic lovers whose choice of smoke is influenced by the season.

This blend, though pleasant, made me think of another of McC's aromatic blends, just not sure which one. I have enjoyed the tin I bought, but won't be seeking another. Lights easily, stays lit, the Missus likes the room note...inoffensive but unremarkable is the best way for me to sum it up.

Tasty, like Irish coffee on a cold day! Good to savor at holiday time, I'm smoking one more bowl today and then I'll cellar the rest until the Holiday season of 2010. You don't want to have Christmas all year or else it spoils the fun.

I've had a few bowls of Holiday Spirit and can say it is a great smoke. The best part of this smoke for me is the smell while I'm smoking. There is a nice spice aroma and that aroma lingers for awhile after the smoke. Over all its a smooth, great tasting smoke, but smoke slowly to avoid tongue bite. Also use a pipe dedicated to aromatics. I will purchase a few more tins to cellar for when the mood hits me.

This is the exact same blend as the 2008 version, just a different date on the label. A good aromatic that burned well and with only the slightest inclination to bite if puffed too aggressively. The flavors described are certainly present, although none of which remind me of the holidays. A good crowd pleaser with a pleasant taste for the aromatic smoker.
