A tasty, on the medium side of mild, pure Virginia. Just fold and stuff lightly. Slightly tangy and oh so grassy. As others have said this is rather monolithic — a simple straight shot of pretty good VA.
I don’t find it … amazing. Not quite ‘comforting.’ I love Virginias and fit them in my very informal rotation as a palate cleanser between the English and Balkans and Orientals and Aromatics and the xyz blends.
I’m glad this blend exists.

Before getting into the notes let me spoil the surprise.
I first smoked this blend fresh. Was ok, but smoked very "green". Two years in a jar and I decided to try it again. Huge difference. Perfect moisture level, a lot more flavor. I liked it so much that it was the sole blend that I took with me to a weekend in Florida, after trying only two bowls.
A week has passed, I have smoked this blend exclusively without getting bored. I usually finish 2oz within 3-4 days, but somehow I still haven't finished this one despite only smoking this. You see where I'm going with this? Say that I'm pleasantly surprised would be a big understatement.
Sniffing the bag I mostly get citrus and a bit of berries, probably coming out of whatever casing was used.
Smoking notes: Straight in the middle moderate sugar, citrus, hay. Drop of smokiness, a hint of floral notes. Fairly straight forward Virginia, fairly one-dimensional, in a positive way. Nothing to think too much about. If you got it - smoke it.
Easy to rub out, pack, and draw. Sip it to get the best result and keep pipe as cool as possible. Minimal relights, if any at all, smokes pretty slow. No chance of tongue bite. Definitely an all-day smoke. I didn't even plan on smoking this exclusively over the past week, but it was very easy to do so.
Mild in body and strength, not complex at all.
Reality dictates the mind. If I was smoking this easily for a week without getting bored and enjoyed every smoke without even noticing, then this is a good blend. The time it aged at the tin definitely did a great job with it. I will definitely buy more and keep it for at least 2 years. And considering the price - it's a no brainer. Four stars.

Sutliff's 507C Virginia Slices is a blending component, but an outstanding smoke on its own.
The aroma from the baggie is delish.
The taste is sweet and delicious.
It will get hot, if pushed. So slow and steady is the way to go.
I wouldn't say this is a complex smoke, but something this good doesn't need to be complex.
Get yourself some and enjoy! Highly recommended.

Update 7/18/23: This stuff is grade-A pure Virginia smoking pleasure. Rich, fresh hay. Very natural sweetness. Can’t recommend enough.
Original Review: By far one of the mildest all Virginia I have smoked thus far. This is very grassy, like wild native fields, ranging to hay and malt. Citrus, a descriptor I find a tad overused, to be very apt in this case. The sweetness has a pronounced grain and malt character. And it is sweet; naturally so. Mild without being boring. Tasty in fact . Puffing on it with no rough edges I can detect. Great price to quality ratio.

Light, cool and easy to light.
What is it like? If there's no Perique in the PS Deluxe Navy Flake, and yes, that's what it looks like, young Virginia should have room to grow.
I don't need to focus on analyzing the ingredients every time I smoke, now I just need to burn a bowl, relax and be happy without worrying about repetition.
The only regret, in the final part tasted bitter.

Jar note of pine or terpenes, spices, and mildly sweet fruit. Tobacco is a yellowish-brown and tan marbled flake, rubs our easily. Moisture content is on the high side, may need to be dried a bit. Burns slow with few relights. The strength is mild to medium and nic is mild to medium. No flavoring detected. Taste is mild to medium and consistent, with notes of wood, spice, grassy, earth, floral, hay, citrus, dry, bitter, zest, sour vegetation, orange peel, a mild sour lemon background note, and a peppery retro. Room note is pleasant to tolerable, and aftertaste is great.

Bag note is slightly sweet hay and citrus. Beautiful slices. moisture level is perfect. Easily rubbed out and packs in the bowl nicely. This is a really great Straight VA. Easily an all day smoke for me. Its mildly sweet with lots of citrus notes. No topping detected. Burns very evenly with consistent flavor to a white ash no relights required. Puffing hard gives no bite but it will burn a bit hotter. With a controlled cadence it stays very cool for a Virginia. This is a mild straight Virginia.
