Sutliff Tobacco Company Aged Maduro Cavendish
(3.14)
A wonderfully mild black cavendish from Sutliff's "Sutliff Private Stock". This bulk aromatic has moderate chocolate and vanilla flavoring, but is overall mild and sweet with little or no bite, and a delightful room note.

This started with notes like Crème Brule or a real deep vanilla Cavendish. As it went along it turned to a very mild pleasant taste where the chocolate came through. The room note was very pleasant. Reminded me of tobacco my father and others smoked when I was a kid. If you are looking for something mild and relaxing that has a great room note and takes you back to tobacco before all the exotic flavors try this! If you have something that is just too sweet this could tame that and add depth to the blend. This will be among my daily rotation of tobaccos. Liked it so well as soon as I can I am ordering a pound of it! Addendum: As of Jan. 23, 2017 smokingpipes.com has this blend in stock. I don't know for how long or how much they have?

As a newer pipe aficionado I've tried a few different tobaccos and this one is the best yet. Opening the bag rewards you with a nice chocolate-vanilla flavor which continues in a milder sense once you light it. It can be a tad tricky to light, but once lit in a good pipe it's hard to beat. It offers an incredibly wonderful room note (the wife loves it), and very little in the way of tongue bite. If you like Cavendish tobaccos, you'll love this one, and it's very friendly to newer smokers. The drawbacks may be that some folks may consider it flat or overly mild, and while it may not be as tasty as some other varieties out there for the amount you spend and what you get I've been very pleased. I might add that it bites way less than other aromatics such as the MacBaren Vanilla Cream, Altadis Black Duke, and Capt. Black.

Delicious! A very satisfying smoke. If you luck across this one do try! Chocolaty, sweet, but not sickly sweet at all....its like decadent dessert! Unfortunately I am told it is discontinued, so if your tobacconist has stock...stock up!
