W.O. Larsen Special Blend No.32 Curly Flake.
The appearance of the tobacco is delightful, the flakes having a curly/wave like pattern to them and giving off an almost caramel like scent. The rubbing of this tobacco is a complete pleasure, the moistness is supreme and it is easily processed into a brilliant texture to smoke without taking up much of your time.
Once filled it lights up splendidly, giving a good/even burn leaving a pure white ash. The smoke is of a fairly medium build, neither too thick nor thin and even if I strain the life out of my pipe it still doesn't bite me! Vitamin N is good as it doesn't blow your mind into orbit, is not too little and can be inhaled with ease. The flavour is exceedingly pure in it's Virginia status. I don't get any extra qualities at all, only a very ample hay/grassy Virginia character. The room note is also unadulterated Virginia and this would be great to smoke in presence of others as it is not at all heavy.
This smokes very clean without causing a lot of cake, this is another reason it would make a great regular tobacco.

W.O. Larsen No. 32 Curly Flake is a mildly cased pure VA that delivers a very pleasant taste of pure tobacco spice and tang. The casing is working its magic predominantly in the background, subtle, supportive, enhancing the natural Virginia sweetness. Could be some honey/vanilla/cream, slightly different from the Mac Baren casing in taste but of similar intensity. Satisfying strength, no bite and one of the easiest flakes to handle complete this amazing experience for Virginia lovers, VaPers and fans of aromatic blends alike.

I am sure I did a review on this tobacco and it has seemingly disappeared. Oh well.
I really like this virginia blend. Indeed, it is one of my favourite tobacco's. However, I think (as per other reviewers) it might not be to everyone's taste. The caramel flavour is noticeable but since I like it - that's fine!
The tobacco lights very well and burns smoothly and lasts well. Now I am a "hot smoker" (a real puffer) and this tobacco burns slowly and very well for me and that is a big plus since many tobacco's don't burn as well as this one. I find it doesn't "bite" as some virginia's and that is another plus for me.
There is nothing else I know of "out there" quite like this blend. It is unique and I think it should be valued for that reason alone. At the least if you haven't tried it give it a try. If you are a virginia fan you may very well discover a new favourite.

I am a bit puzzled by this one but I think it deserves 4 stars because of the smooth quality, at least after a couple of years of aging. First of all, this is definetely a flavoured tobacco, and Im surprised by those reviewers who rate it as mild in flavoring. I think this is one is not very far from a danish style (or something between that and an aromatic) even if it is a straight virginia. It's a type of tobacco that could probably make pipesmoking a bit enticing to those around you (if you had to smoke in public and want to go for something less obstrusive). The room note is not exactly like an artificial aromatic, it is more of a genuine tobacco smell together with sweet caramel. The same flavouring also translates into the taste department. Actually, I find this tobacco curious becuase the actual virginias are so mild in taste that I hardly detect any taste at all. It's like a very smooth and neutral taste together with a consistent layer of sweet cake, or caramelish taste, but still a bit subdued. Subdued by what? Nothing really, just a very smooth tobacco that I think is of good quality and gives a pleasent smoking experience. But I would say the virginias are more on the earthy side, I don't detect any bright or grassy notes. The tobacco is a bit sticky, and even after I had opened it and forgot the tobacco in the tin for over a year or so, it had not dried out and was still in need of a few relights while smoking. But I would still say it is fairly easy to smoke, if you pack it right and all that. And it does not bite. So I think this is a good option for someone who do not like artificial aromatics but still wants to have something that smells very nice, and does not burn too hot. The smoke is creamy with a somewhat robust body but smooth nevertheless. The only downside is that it accumulates a bit of an ashy aftertaste in the mouth while smoking, so probably works best with a drink. It seems that the backflip of the wonderful scent is this ashy coating that it builds up in the mouth, that gradually intruses on the smooth side of things, and that can also give a tounge burn if you are not careful. But few tobaccos are perfect, right?
