Brigham Enterprises Inc. Cambridge Blend

(3.33)
A very sophisticated blend of African, Turkish, Virginia, and latakia tobaccos. Blended so that the latakia does not overwhelm the blend resulting in a very smooth English blend.

The smoky, woody, earthy, musty sweet Cyprian latakia is the lead component. The woody, floral, earthy, herbal, vegetative, spicy, mildly buttery sweet and sour Turkish plays a support role. The grassy, very tart and tangy citrusy gold Virginia is just above being a condiment. A light sweet (possibly rum?) topping barely tones down the tobaccos. The strength and nic-hit are mild. The taste level is a step or two past the mild mark. Won’t bite, and has no harsh spots. Burns cool and clean and a little fast with a rather smooth, very consistent flavor. Requires few relights, and leaves virtually no dampness in the bowl. Has a lightly lingering pleasant sweet after taste and room note. An easy going light all day English. Two and a half stars.

Looking for an "English blend" in Canada? Don't want to spend a fortune? Cambridge Blend may fill the bill. This is a welcome change from the well soaked aromatics that seem to dominate the Brigham line and the ususal choice of Sail, Capt. Black, Amphora, etc. which are the usual available choices outside of the big cities.

And the price is competitive, Brighams costs only a dollar more per pack than the "drugstore" brands, which makes it about 1/2 the price of a tin of Dunhill or Solani,, if you can get them.

This is easy to light, the taste is tobacco, and if their is a casing I couldn't find it. This contains latakia, but it is there as a noticable condiment, not as latakia "fix."
