John Patton Moe's Confetti

(3.13)
John's most popular blend. A combination of burleys give this a nutty and slightly sweet taste with a wonderful room note. Best smoked in a corn cob pipe.

I am afraid I'm about to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Rich graciously included a sample of this with my last order. I was delighted to get it, based upon it's description and all the effusive reviews here. But then, I smoked it.

I can only direct you to Zone Smoke's review below. I couldn't taste the Carter Hall, but I COULD taste the Walgreens Burley, which is anything but a pleasant taste to me.

This was a nothing smoke. Really, there isn't anything terribly WRONG with it, but neither is there anything terribly right.

I received a sample of this with a pipe purchase recently. I am into the old codger type burleys and this blend was right up my alley. I will agree with the other reviewers that this blend has qualities of both Carter Hall and Prince Albert, but it seems like there is just a bit more there in a top note. I cant put my finger on it, but its definitely got a sweet something going on. Good blend all in all, but when I have a codger burley requirement, I will continue to reach for the prince. **Update 7-28-18** Just coming back to this blend, which has been cellared for the last two years, and it is fantastic! Actually sweeter than I remembered, but not in a cloying way. I would categorize this blend as a very light aromatic. Burns like a dream with no chance of bite. Whatever top note is on this blend reminds me very much of the topping used on Bald Headed Teacher. This is a very good blend and well worth a try.

What can I say about this blend, except that right now it's my favorite. It definitely is best in a cob, but also a great smoke in a clean briar. I bet a meer would do very well with this blend as well.

A great burley, just a little bit of sweetness, and very creamy. I have not had this blend bite, even when I tried. Lit very well with no drying needed. Stays lit as long as I tamp. I have put a pound of this on my christmas list, just hoping somebody comes through with it!

Last summer I really smoked a lot of this, sitting on the porch.....for me this is a truly relaxing smoke. Slightly sweet, not goopy at all, very nice nutty taste, and terrific room note. Very recommended.
