What is not to like about the blends from the good folks at Boswells? You get a very high quality product, at a reasonable price, that is made right here in the USA from what I understand to be incredibly nice people running a small business.

The real reason I am a huge fan of the Boswell blends is they are just downright fantastic. I really look to them when I am looking for a quality aromatic. For me this is where they really shine. Do not get me wrong, Northwoods is a fantastic tobacco, but there are a lot of really good english blends out there. What is truly a rare beast is an aromatic that is not goopy, that does not require an asbestos tongue, and really delivers on the flavor it advertises. For most aromatic blends out there whatever extravagant name the tobacco holds it becomes a sad let down. This pouches of wild fruit cherry passion jubilee really just taste like hot steam. Not Boswells. If it says apple or chocolate or berries in the name, that is exactly what you can expect. That is a rarer bird to find in the pipe tobacco world than a good english.

Raspberry Cream is just like all the other Boswell favorites. Packs well, burns well, leaves behind a nice dry grey ash and a pleasant and nostalgic type of room note. Cannot go wrong. I do prefer Berry Cobbler to Raspberry Cream but you would never find me turning my nose up at a bowl of this blend. Definitely worth a try.

This is a good blend; the smell from the bag, the room note, and the lemon-like zing in the flavor. But there are a few things which don't make it outstanding in my book.

I like my aromatics to have a very mild tobacco taste, and a medium to strong flavoring (without being overpowering). Raspberry Cream, when being compared to the Berry Cobbler, has a somewhat stronger tobacco taste and a duller flavoring. I prefer the bag smell and room note of the berry cobbler as well. Still a very good blend, not quite what I had expected.

I'll be purchasing Boswell's Chocolate Cream next, and I have high hopes that this Raspberry mixed with the Chocolate would be a killer blend.

Wow! This gives a whole new meaning to getting a raspberry!

I was gifted a sample of this blend and it smelled so wonderful in the pouch and I had a sweet tooth going so thought I would give it a try. The pouch aroma is almost like raspberry jam. It is a dark mix of brown to mostly dark brown ribbon cut tobaccos and it was almost sticky with the topping but not like a lot I've tried over the years. Upon lighting up, a wonderful room note aroma burst out of my pipe, and the taste of fresh raspberry settled on my tongue and it tasted quite good. Those that think an aromatic can't taste like the pouch aroma need to try this, it tastes exactly like it smells. For the first half of the bowl, my sweet tooth was quenched and it tasted wonderful but very little of the tobacco taste came across. Then just past the mid point, I started tasting the tobacco come through. The first half was very mild and rich while the second half started biting and got harsher and at the bottom of my pipe it became very bitter. To it's credit though, it did not gunk up my pipe and did burn down to a dark grey ash and a little dottle. While in no way would this be a regular smoke for me, I have to say I did enjoy it overall and it will be nice to have when I have the sweet cravings. Because of the bitter end I can't give it four stars, I will give it three because for an aromatic it behaved quite well and was enjoyable.

Just like every other aromatic I’ve tried of Boswell’s, the topping is what you smell as soon as you open the pouch/tin. This one is very pleasant. I’m always afraid when buying a new aromatic that the topping will smell or taste completely artificial, but the berry note here is very natural, and backed up with a heavy scent of vanilla. Upon the charring light though, there is instantly a toasted gold Cavendish taste and smell, which remains present throughout the smoke. The berry and vanilla taste and smell never go away, and retain a strong presence throughout the bowl. A perfect “dessert” smoke or Saturday morning smoke for the porch swing and a cup of Joe. This can burn hot, even with a slow cadence, and burns quite wet, especially in a deep bowl. Drying out beforehand helps quite a bit. I have not noticed any “ghosting” with this like some aromatics.

There is no nicotine to speak of. This may not even take the edge off if you are having a craving, but the flip side is that you could easily smoke this all day if you want. This and Cupcake are my favorite aromatics from Boswell’s.

As a side note, if you order this in a bag rather than a tin, the berry smell will get into any other bagged tobacco during shipping. Airing the tobaccos out in separate areas/rooms got everything back right again.

I got a one ounce bag of this and found it today packed in behind other blends. Thought I would give it a try. Typically I find most Boswell aromatics pretty good but usually come up short in the taste department. This blend is no different. Has a decent tin note with a light aroma of raspberry. Lights up easy and you get an immediate taste of fresh raspberries but that quickly goes away. Then you get a very light sweet taste that I can't identify that comes and goes. At the end of the smoke Burns fairly cool with a little bite especially near the end of the smoke. I find Boswell mixes about the best non-aromatic blends out there but their aromatics are about on par with everyone else. Frankly this is an average aromatic. To be fair I prefer full tasting aromatics of which there are very few so for those who like lite mild tasting aromatics this blend may be right down your alley. What taste you receive is good and it stays with YOU throughout the entire smoke.

This blend has more of a sharp or tart type of raspberry taste to me. As with all Boswell blends it is pretty good. The flavor hangs around for a while after the pipe is finished and i like that. This is one I may keep a little on hand to enjoy every now and then. I will definitely be trying this one again in the summer time because I think it will be more enjoyable at that time. Regardless it's still a solid 3 star blend.

I don't usually smoke fruity aros, I'm more of a vanilla-chocolate-coffee flavor guy. This blend is delicious. Dark creamy raspberry, mild chocolate, a hint of tobacco. It works. Burns well, no bite, and flavor lasts till the end. By second bowl it became a top three aro for me. Gonna buy a boat load for the apocalypse. --Edit-- So one disappointment that cost a star: the raspberryflavor/ aroma flashes off quickly. Two weeks after opening and jarring, the raspberry has faded to a basic modern cavendish. As long as you smoke the tin in a couple weeks it's fine, but I expect aros to last a little longer.

Not really a fan of raspberry blends, but this one is pretty decent. Very sweet, can definitely taste the raspberry. If it wasn't a Boswell blend, then this would likely be one of the top aromatics that whatever brand offers. It's good, but there's plenty more to offer from Boswell that I think tops this one.

Smoked alone, the raspberry flavors are dominant with little of the cream aspects showing up... It definitely needs an extended amount of drying time as it is heavily cased and can be tough to keep lit... Can get bitter towards the end of the bowl...

Where this tobacco shines is when it is dried thoroughly and blended with a vanilla or chocolate aromatic... It tones down some of the sweetness and becomes more enjoyable to me.. Still not my favorite Boswells ( Berry Cobbler) but once dried properly, this is rather nice...

This is a very mild no bite tobacco blend with a little Raspberry taste and a mild room note. It is not my favorite Boswell blend but worth a try. I prefer Hunters Choice, No Bite delight, Pipers Pleasure, and Christmas Cookie.
