I didn't find that this burns hot, but it does burn fast. Smoked dry in a cob. I only noticed nicotine in the first bowl in the morning. It does seem to bite if you smoke it all day. I like to exhale through the snork, and I get a mild citrus flavor when I do that. It leaves a mild, candied orange flavor on the tongue.
This did get the thumbs up from my coworkers. The same as other reviewers, I don't taste any honey.

A (very) bad tobacco experience. I thought of stopping here but...

I would like to add also that you have to stay away from this blend if you want to keep your tonque healthy, your pipe in good condition and your hard earned money in your pocket or spent them to a better blend(which is very easy, because whatever you are going to buy will be better for sure).

I don't know with what to begin... 1) Taste: Buy some fresh oranges cut them and throw them in your garbage bin. Revisit your bin after 3 days, stick your nose in there and take some big breaths/puffs whatever... If you like that go immediately and buy BR orange and ?????. 2)Smell of the smoke:Exactly like the taste +setting your bin on fire. Smell of the pouch is like glugogehoneish acid. 3)Medium to strong tobacco. after 5 puffs made me dizzy and nauseous.

I don't think that I have to add anything else at this point.

I bought a pouch as a new pipe smoker... I got to say that these strange flavors atract me... The first bowl I smoked gave me a hell of a bite. Since then I've been using the "frank method" for packing, and it's been fine. It is a very sweet tobacco (sirupy as someone mentioned above), and you can taste the oranges (more like a orange jam), and a very sweet flavor that I assume it's the honey. It's not completely bad, but I don't think I would by another pouch. It smells great in the pouch, and aparently when smoked too. Burns easy, but can get bitter if smoked too hot.

Bleccch! Horrible! Don't! Neither oranges nor honey taste like this. Hot, cheap and nasty. Yet another gruesome clunker from Borkum Riff. Obviously there's a market for this kind of confectionery, but I can't imagine why. I wouldn't smoke a bowl of it again for a million dollars. (That probably isn't quite true, but you know what I mean ...).

I feel a fool for even admitting that I bought a packet of this stuff. This tobacco is syrupy and sweet as molasses. I detected no honey, and very little orange. Orange in the sense of orange-flavoured cough syrup, not freshly cut orange. The same goes for the aftertaste.

Not wanting to waste a single gram of tobacco, I blended this with an equal amount of pure Southern African burley. The result is something which is passable for smoking at a barbeque, or similar outdoors event where discrimination is not required.

On the plus side, this tobacco burns easily, so could be worthwhile for someone new to pipe smoking who is still learning how to do it, but it will surely spoil the pipe. Not recommended at all.

The only lenience one would have towards such mixture would be excused due one's past relation to such a cheap aromatic (romantic post-adolescent experimentation that is).

As I found myself, outside this Romantisised context to test this tobacco, I must protest against its vulgar casing, its biting qualities and its tangy-bitter attack it undertakes on one's throat. My advice would be to pursue elsewhere for aromatics.

Smoking this one is like smoking mouldy oranges. Why they advertise it as Orange and Honey I don't know. The honey is barely detectable. Each to their own though, a friend of mine likes this one, but I wouldn't even rate it. Like all the other BR blends I've tried so far, this one bites, sometimes quite hard. I couln't even muster the stubborness to finish a pouch of this mould in a bag.

I live in Tacoma, Washington; and I went to my local Walgreens shortly before Christmas. I was shocked and disappointed to discover that the store had removed its pipes and pipe tobaccos. I upon return to my home began to "online" shop, and received my second disappointment; in that Missouri Meerschaum, can not ship tobacco to Washington State. I was lucky to find Cup Of Joes would ship to Washington, and ordered two pouches of Borkum Riff - Orange & Honey. I ordered this blend as it listed with the least amount of Cavendish in its make-up. My order arrived here in Tacoma on 12/23/2014 and I have been smoking it in various EA Carey pipes until today, 01/02/2015; to give it a fair chance. It arrived very dry and I added two moisture buttons soaked in purified water, to bring up moisture. I noted the orangish odor when I opened the pouch, and it got stronger as the moisture rose. I long ago smoked John Rolfe with its peach notes, the orange was not a natural, it was a chemical orange. I could not detect any honey. I have noted this chemical increase as I smoked the tobacco to the bottom of the bowl. I have smoked an ounce of the pouch, and I can not take any more. After ten days, I can only give one and half stars; to this mixture.
