Low Country Pipe & Cigar Santee
(3.07)
The Santee River has been central to South Carolina history since early colonial times. Particularly suited to rice cultivation, the swamps of the Santee River soon gave rise to stately manors. This sophisticated Virginia based aromatic captures the languid lifestyle that was synonymous with the region. Subtly fruity, with hints of apple, this would be the perfect accompaniment to a mint julep on a sultry summer night.

Nice apple aroma very full. Nice looking blend, blonds, woody, with a few black flacks and twists. Mild taste, stays lit very well. Just the right amount of moisture. Packs very well & smokes the same. Recommend to Va smokers that like some flavoring.

This is a good smoke that burns to a nice white ash. This mainly has the flavor of a nice sweet virgina. No tounge bite if you know how to smoke a virgina properly. This was my first try from this company and I found it to be high quality tobacco.

Tin note of apples, spice and maybe apricot. Tobacco is a mix of ribbon of tan, light brown and a few pieces of black. Moisture content is good, but some pipe smokers will want to dry it a bit. Burns moderate with few relights. The strength is mild to medium and nic is mild. Flavoring is mild, with notes of vanilla and apple. The Vanilla is sporadic and mild. The Apple is very mild and other than the charring light, it was mostly a background player. Taste is medium and moderately consistent, with notes of sour apple, sweet grass, vanilla, sugar, tangy citrus, floral, spices, orange peel, mildly bitter, wood, earth, mildly savory, acidic, a mild semi-sweet fruity background note, and a mildly peppery almost smooth retro. Virginias are leading with Cavendish and Flavoring providing minimal support. Room note is pleasant to tolerable, and aftertaste is good.

don't smoke a lot of aromatics these days but this is a keeper. my tin is from April of this year. tin note is sweet with a faint apple scent. like a granny smith sour. the Virgina has that sweet grassy and honey smell. burns very well with the apple upfront at the start. as you puff the apple gets pushed back and the sweet Virgina comes froward. the cavendish smooths it all out and may be the source of some sweetness. I do get a little honey taste which i like.as with a lot of aromatics gets a little harsh and burnt at the bottom. need to slow down and sip. I really like this one. A hearty satisfying smoke for times of reflection.
