I got this blend in one of Pipes and cigars's sample packs.
While its not a terrible blend it suffers from being kind of underwhelming. It stayed lit, and smoked cold. It's flavor was alright but leaned towards the boring side. If you're new to pipe smoking this is a safe start, but anyone who's tried a couple blends already will have found something more exciting.

Sutliff's Dulce de Leche has a jar note that is caramel forward and vanilla undertones to it. The tobacco is a little moist but not bad overall. I left the lid off the jar for about an hour and then took some out to air a little more before loading the pipe. The flavor is almost a burnt caramel not what I was expecting at all. Behind this was a sweet vanilla note throughout. The burley does come through and it has a toasty nuttiness and slight earthiness about it. It smokes fairly dry but required a few relights. It did leave that pin like prickling sensation on my tongue that some aros do. The nic was not noticeable. The room note had a heavy burnt caramel note that while okay overall did not win any support from the wife. This is a little better than the average aro out there but the topping is so mild the flavors are just at the bottom of mild to med. and the burnt note grows old quickly. I don't see myself reordering this one. I would rate it at 2.5 stars but am rounding down because of this.

I must say, that given the name of this blend, I had high expectations, as I am a fan of caramel and vanilla flaovered blends. It was a bit of a let down for me, as I do think highly of Altadis blends. Altadis Caramelo has more of a detectable caramel flavor and smokes noticeably sweeter than this one. It certainly is not a bad smoke, it is more of a typical good quality smoke. Not a bad blend for a first timer, but nothing to paddle out on a big day for.
