Well this isn't "Supreme", It is Oriental and maybe some English. If you like Rattrays Red Rap., you might like this as a cheap alternate, but just don't expect it as a replacement. It's probably deserving of 3 stars but I can only give it 2, no complexity or strength

There's a lack of Virginia flavor and an inadequate amount of Latakia, especially as compared to Proper English. The Cavendish and Burley don't do much, although I suspect the Burley adds a little strength to what would otherwise be a lightweight. It's missing the kick from some Turkish or Balkan sun-cured.

If you want something this light on the Latakia and this anonymous with the VA, Durbar would be a far better option.

Stokkebye makes some very good English blends, so it's easy to forgive them for a miss like English Oriental Supreme.

I don't know if my palate is sophisticated enough to describe the taste of tobacco in the kinds of terms I read in the reviews on this site. As with wine I cannot pick out specific flavors such as "nutty", or with a type of fruit, or grass etc. I can only speak to the pleasure of the taste and how the tobacco "works" in the pipe and during the smoke. English Oriental is a ribbon cut blend of Latakia, Virginia, burley and black cavendish. It presents itself as a mixture of light and dark strands of leaf with the smell of smoke and tobacco. The moisture level of the bulk purchase I made is perfect. The tobacco loads well and takes a light well. It burns clean and gives a wonderful cool smoke. After the initial light the taste of the latakia and the virginias is lovely. The burley gives the blend a good base and the cavendish is not forward giving the blend a distinct English feel. I found that a slow draw worked best as the blend burns quickly. The pipe I used had a small to medium sized bowl and the smoke was finished in less than forty minutes. That is faster than I am used to. I am not sure if it was due to the fact that the blend burns quickly or if I was pushing it due to the good flavor and pleasant draw I was getting. At the end of the session I was pleased with the tobacco and remarked to myself that the experience was excellent. I highly recommend this blend to anyone who appreciates the taste of tobacco. It is an easy smoke that leaves you free to let your mind wander to wherever you need to go. <*)(((((((((><

A mild English blend that is quite tame on the Latakia. Tin notes of a typical English, the tobacco is crimp cut thin ribbons. Lights and packs very well, easy going all day light English. I didn't find this tobacco to have much depth or complexity at first, but it seems the more I smoke it, the better it gets. At the middle to end of the bowl, you can detect some nuttiness from the burley addition. As others have stated, this is a great beginner blend to introduce your palate to Oriental/English blends.

A stock English, but a very nice one.

It should not be considered as a rival to Black House, Magnum Opus, Samovar, Penzance, British Woods or Ironsides. Those are higher quality and should be considered so. This is more of a more easy going smoke with less nuance and less complexity in the flavour. Its also lighter in the strength department.

However, its very good for what it is. Those afore mentioned are 4 star English smokes, this is a 3. Nice latakia hit, good warm Virginia and Orientals which come in down the bowl, good rich smoke and very easy to manage and low maintenance.

I personally couldnt detect much from the Cavendish. I was hoping it would have that sweet tinge from Black Mallory, but I couldnt get it. Maybe need to dry it out more next time.

For an all day English that is easy, hassle free and doesnt bite at all and isnt a pain to maintain, you cant go wrong.

This is a solid English, or is it an Oriental with an attitude? However one classifies this, I found it to be very good. The blend lit well and one could taste the virginias,Orientals and the Latikia right away. Slow smoking this odiferous delight, brought out more of the Orientals and viginias. I found this to be a delight because the Latikia was subdued and played well with the other tobaccos. Like so many of Stokkebye blends, this is an excellent smoking value. I give this a strong reccomedation for both flavor and value

After extolling the virtues of Stokkebye's Proper English, it was recommended that I try English Oriental Supreme, and I am glad I did. It is a rounder, sweeter, and more complex blend when compared to Proper English. And while the actual strength of the tobacco could leave one wanting, I've never had a problem with it. If I am going on a hike or to a festival, anywhere where I'm only going to pack one tobacco for an all-day smoke, there is a overwhelming chance that English Oriental Supreme is the tobacco in my pouch.

This is one of my favorite English orientals, while there is Latakia present, The oriental tobaccos shine through, there is just enough of latakia in this blend to let you know it's is in the english style, a great tobacco for when your in the mood for something not so english and not a VA

For the most part a good blend. Aroma and flavor is definately to my liking. Was just a little too spicy for my taste. I prefer cornell&diehl orient express as it has the same aroma and flavor just not as spicy.
