There are times when I love a strong English, with its strength of Latakia. And, there are times when I like a lighter English, or an English/Oriental blend like EMP. This blend, for me, is simply marvelous. I can't get enough of this. Smooth, rich, refined, and fairly complex. The Orientals take precedence over the Cyprian Latakia, but every leaf in the blend seems of high quality, and as it's a Stokkebye blend, it's extremely well done. I would give this to any newer piper for their introduction into Latakias. I have recommended it to seasoned vets. It's simply an all day blend for a lover of Orientals and Latakia. Never gives me the dreaded dry mouth effect, either. The Burley and Black Cav just smooth things out to a remarkable degree. Wonderful blend, and reasonable!

PS English Oriental Supreme is an outstanding, mellow pipe smoking mixture.

It is not a traditional english, it is not a perfumey oriental, it is not an american burley/va blend, it is not a black cavendish candy-laced aromatic....it is a Frankenstein-like creature of a blend and it is brilliant!

All the tobaccos work together in a symphonic effect to produce a fantastic, intriguing, contemplative smoke that is sweet and easy-going. Not too strong in either flavor or nicotine and never gets boring. Beautiful ribbon cut makes for an easy pack no matter the pipe size.

Highly Recommended!

Nice mild and pleasant smoke. Surprising consistency in the flavor with all that's going on here. The Orientals and burley are out front with a combined nutty woody and earthy notes. Theres also a very gentle peppery, faint bitter walnut. The Virginia is citrusy and grassy. The Latakia is a sparse condiment offering herbal, floral, smokiness. The black cavendish offers a lot of sweetness. The topping is mild. Pretty much everything is in the mild to medium range. This could be an all day smoke. It does have a little spice so that might not fit everyone.

Mild English, slightly Oriental/Turkish forward blend. Contains Black Cavendish, Burley, Latakia, Oriental/Turkish and Virginia. Short ribbon cut, almost perfect moisture from bulk bag when arrived from Smokingpipes.com.

Burns very nicely, no relights, produces a lot of smoke with a slight mouth coating. Latakia is condiment, noticeable but in the background. The Black Cavendish operates to even out the tangy Orientals in a pleasing way. Surprisingly burns somewhat hot, not sure why considering the many components.

Not a fancy blend, old school in the sense that the rich tobacco flavors shine, no noticeable topping. Moderate nic, moderate strength and moderate taste. A nice experience when one wants to just enjoy the taste of a well-balanced Oriental forward smoke.

Another good blend from Stokkebye. This is a cool burning, bite free, English tobacco. The smell is, for sure, English with presence of Latakia, but the real players are Balkans and Virginias. I think it has some Cavendish in it. But, Burley seems to consolidate the experience by adding substance. The nicotine is mild and it burns with moderately and leaves no moisture.

A woodsy-tasting, well balanced blend, this is an early favorite of mine. At the time of my writing this, I've been smoking pipes for about 6 weeks, and I've smoked 13 different tobaccos. I enjoyed my sample ounce so much that I bought a pound of it. The latakia is very noticeable, but not overpowering. All-around great flavor. Needs some drying time.

EDIT Jan 17, 2019: I opened a mason jar of EOS that I put away in April 2018. 9 months of aging has resulted in some pleasant changes in the smoking characteristics. The virginia & oriental leaf content isn't as sharp, and there's a more uniform taste from beginning to end of the bowl. It seems like the smoke is meatier/thicker/richer than before. It's like this blend has become more of a mixture. I'm enjoying this quite a bit in the large bowl of my Chris Morgan Bones series "Fat Author" (virtually identical in size/shape to a Savinelli 320ks

I've got a couple more jars that were sealed up at the same time (4/18/18), and I'm looking forward to opening one of them in another 6-9 months and seeing what further changes might have occurred.

Most excellent blend with only highest grade tobaccos for sure, you know this because you can taste it. The only thing I find kinda odd is the description says through tobaccoreview that there is orientals yet the Stokkebye main description does not say these tobaccos are present which impart is a strange title for a blend name, when I smoke this awesome blend I get no hints of orientals at all but never the less this blend is one of the best non aromatics I have had in a long time, its the mildness that blows my mind yet maintaining its depth and weight to it in flavor. The latakia is just right and the unflavored cavendish gives it just a hint of sweetness while the burley keeps it toned down and smoking smooth. I absolutely love latakia although I am a aromatic man, latakia bombs are a huge turn off when over done and it taste like your smoking a leather ashtray of smokiness with something else, I do not call that all natural all tobacco taste I call that yuk!!! BUT PS EOS 306 is the perfect model of a fine English style tobacco blend that allows you to enjoy the taste of latakia but in harmony with all the other goodness it has to offer. Very mellow, very smooth, low nicotine and light to medium in body I enjoy this blend very much so I highly recommend it!!!

One must concur with many reviews here: this is a good intro to Englishes, and a lighter "all day" type of English. The latakia is present, but not obtrusive. Unique to this blend is a cool, tea like quality to its flavor. It really must be sipped slowly to be enjoyed. This isn't a work in the shed blend, it's a sit and read or chat with the wife blend. I only give it three stars because I would like taste more latakia.

I found this one full of flavour and in a very good balance and I think that is the beauty of this tobacco. However, this isn't a strong one which is not going to punch you or dare I say not even give you a kick! It's all about good complex flavour! First, it praises you with the sweetness of the Virgina, also a hint of Black Cavendish, along with ... the nuttiness from the burley, occasionally you have a touch of spiciness, from the orientals? I'm not so sure, but that little fragrant mustiness is certainly there. The Latakia is a team player, but not dominant! I enjoyed this one immensely! Get yourself a good sized bowl (To this I prefer a pot with a good breath) and let the baccy shines through if you like English, I'm more than highly recommend this one to you! And do sip this little beauty slowly, Enjoy!

Peter Stokkebye - English Oriental Supreme.

Like the Bengal Slices I reviewed yesterday, this is a bit of a 'milder' English. But, to be fair, it has more of the usual English type flavour in comparison.

The pouch holds a mixture that looks to be quite a fair split between black and brown. The moisture's perfect, but I think that's because 1: it's bulk, and 2: it's had a long journey from SmokingPipes.com giving it time to dry if it was moist.

The smoke has a mild English quality, but nowhere near as much vanilla sweetness as the Bengal Slices I reviewed yesterday: the Black Cavendish seems much lighter. Although the Black Cav's light, it isn't as wimpy as the Virginia: this really is a Feather Weight in the smoke. The most flavour is given by the Burley and Latakia: the Burley tastes uncomplicated and simple, and the Latakia gives a gentle sharpness.

Apart from the flavour, there are a few other good aspects of E.O.S.: the burn's superb, it goes steadily to a pure ash, the temperature of the smoke gets no higher than medium at any point, there's no bite whatsoever, the nicotine's just below medium, and the smoke's so thick it's almost chewy!

Even though I find this a good blend I wouldn't give it four stars. It's nice, but if I want a mild English I'd just fill with Bengal Slices.

Still, it gets a steadfast recommendation:

Three stars.
