McClelland Easy Street
(2.32)
An elegant black cavendish with a whisper of English walnut. It's cool as the coolest jazz, soft as velvet nights, rich and creamy. Smoke it and you'll be on Easy Street.

The unsweetened black cavendish is the tobacco, and you get a little brown sugar from it; no vanilla. The English Walnut topping is exceptionally mild and sweet, but I don’t get that much of a nut taste from it. Very one dimensional in every way. Burns a little slow, cool, clean and velvety soft and smooth with a light creaminess. No nicotine. Leaves a little moisture in the bowl, but no goop or dottle. An all day smoke that you’d hardly notice puffing. Normally, I reserve one star ratings for blends with a bad, or little, or no flavor that goop and bite. This doesn’t do the two latter observations, and the taste isn’t bad, but it’s boring and weak, so I can’t recommend it.

McClelland -Easy Street (Premium Aromatics).
After my 'English Day' yesterday, a few more bowls of McC' Old Dog this morning, raising its rating to four stars, I decided to move to an aromatic; it is, after all, Sunday, my aromatic day! So I popped open a tin of Easy Street.
It says in the description it's a coarse cut black Cavendish and, indeed, the blend's jet black and pretty coarse! My moisture's exactly as I want it to be: smokeable right away.
To be honest, I feel disappointed. On the plus side of things it burns well, doesn't bite and makes big clouds of smoke. But on the negative side the flavour isn't exactly 'striking'. Rather than, as I expected from the appearance, heavy vanilla black Cav' with a touch of nuts, I get something reminiscent to cardboard flavoured with wood! Jokes aside, the black Cavendish tastes light and empty, and the walnuts have more of a very strong woodiness rather than a characteristic walnut flavour. I find the smoke very 'dry', too, it makes my mouth feel strange.
Nicotine: mild. Room-note: pleasant.

There are many reasons to miss McClelland, they are responsible for some of my finest smoking experiences. This was without question not one of them. The casing was there, as to what it was I couldn't tell you. They say nuts, try as I might I couldn't find a whiff of a nut smell. Maybe it's me but I couldn't identify what it smelled like. The tobacco packed easily and lighting was no problem but I never got anything out of the smoke. Looks like from the reviews some people were fond of it but count me out. I know it's not around anymore but if you come across someone trying to sell aged McClelland tins I would recommend staying away from this one.

This was far too weak for my likings. The taste is ok, a bit chemicalish, not a bad flavour, but not real good either. I found if this is mixed with mclelland blue mountain it is significantly better, but overall it's a dud. I won't be buying more of this, but if you hate nicotine, and like sweet black cav this could be worth a shot.

I try to keep an open mind when it comes to aromatics, in fact I like several aromatics but I am primarily a Balkan smoker. I love McClelland's English and Virginia blends so I thought I would give their aro's a try. In short, this tastes like what I would imagine the mens urinal fresheners taste like. If you're into that thing, by all means get this blend, otherwise stay clear!!!! For me this blend is a candy coated piece of poop. There are much better aromatics out there, try Blue Note.

I tried to like this, sorry fellow pow wows, but this cavendish with a note of walnut was a sour note. I opened the tin, not bad. I filled a nice clean pipe, with premature intentions of liking this blend, " it is a McClelland, and as a fan, thought only happy thoughts,...Uggg, I tried several times , and 2 types of pipes, No this was some strange tobacco, not sure if i was overwhelmed with chemicals or cow plop, no stars here.

I sure was fooled by this blend. Smells good in the can, but that's about it. Starts out not to bad, but half way down the bowl, the flavor leaves out, and turns salty. Not for me.
