Shag cut. Aromas of toasted butley, cocoa and vanilla. Flavors are similar if smoked slowly. The initial molasses and vanilla is very mild and enjoyable. This is a fast burning blend so proceed with caution and smoke slowly. Overall a decent blend but nothing to write home about. Can be an all day smoke

Flavoring = none. I beg to differ. If you want to smoke a bowl of baby powder get some of this. The Lakeland "perfume" is so strong in this that it completely prohibits any tobacco flavor from coming through. I managed to smoke a bowl a couple of days ago. Tried again today and gave up at the half way point. I would try drying it to see if that helps, but it came bone dry so that option is out.
Mild to medium in body. Medium to strong in perfume. There is no taste other than perfume. Burns very well.

Nice golden shag, and I have to agree somewhat with the cigarette comparison. It did have a bit of a cig flavor, but a good handmade cigarette. The nicotine content seemed high as well. This was not a mellow blend in my opinion, but a sharp flavor burst and the nic kicked in quickly (alliteration for ya!).
The flavor was a very light sweetness along with a fair amount of body and "zing". The burley and virginias merged seamlessly. If I were a morning smoker, this would be a good start to the day. It burned nicely, if a little quickly, due to the shag cut. I didn't taste vanilla or chocolate but admittedly my taste buds for things outside of tobacco are a bit lacking when I'm tasting a tobacco blend. As I mentioned, there was some sweetness that isn't in straight burley or virginia tobaccos, so there is definitely some added casing. But it wasn't enough to make this an aromatic. This is a more robust smoke but not strong with some sharp flavor that isn't overwhelming. A good, occasional blend for when I want a pick-me-up.

It really looks like cigarette tobacco, but its taste has, well almost, nothing to do with it. Chocolate?, vanilla, hmm, I didn't find them either. It really increases temperature, but I didn't get any tongue bite, even if I forced the bowl. It is slightly bitter, which I like in burley blends, and burley is the dominant factor here. I am not a specialist in Lakeland blends, but I wouldn't place Bright & Burley in this category. In general, it has an excellent leaf in quality terms, it's easy to pack, keeps easily alight, it has a generous nicotene level, and I could smoke it throughtout the day. 3 (and a half) stars from me.

This is not an American Burley similar to Prince Albert nor the Danish honeyed burley from Mac Baren, this is another kind of burley/Va, less nutty with more body and some Lakeland taste, the vanilla and chocolate are here just as condimental components to give body and flavor but you can?t taste or feel them.
This is a delicious and good quality Burly/Va, especially for Lakeland tobacco fans.

Burley and Bright is a fairly bland tobacco. Vanilla maybe, chocolate not at all. I really struggled with this blend. Saying average at best is kind. Very disappointed from Gawith Hoggarth as I usually find the blends good to great. This is just lacking in flavor. I agree with other reviews in that it is too cigarette like and that is definitely the Burley type used.

I purchased a bulk ounce of Burley & Bright from a local tobacconist. This tobacco blend is a shag cut with an even amount of moisture and requires no dry time. The pouch note recalls toasted nuts, sweet grass, and cocoa. The burley is foremost and is sweet and woody. The Virginias offer hay, grass, and citrus, and the blend develops into an even, medium-bodied, flavorful smoke. The cocoa or vanilla topping is very mild and doesn't unnecessarily subdue the tobaccos. The nicotine is somewhere around medium and can be felt a little more toward the final third of the bowl. There's an ashy, Turkish cigarette-like quality that I don't get until the bottom. No possibility of tongue-bite. The room note is pleasant and could be an all-day smoke, easily enjoyed on its own or as a blender. Recommended for ex-cigarette smokers, burley enthusiasts, or mild aromatic lovers.

Excellent stuff , contrary to other reviewers I get no bite or harshness , maybe it's because ime a burley fan , also it's not a fast burner considering the cut , flavour is well described by others , a nice dry sipping tobacco , completely non offensive , probably better smoked in a cob , low nicotine , but fairly satisfying , plenty of flavour , mild to medium.

A quite enjoyable shag-like Burley/Virginia. Definitely not an all-day smoke for me, but it certainly can be. This is a deep golden tobacco with a little bit of flavor. I get more chocolate, but I won’t argue the vanilla flavor.
This one will bite you a bit of not careful, so slow sipping is recommended and rewarded. In my estimation, it’s a firmly medium strength blend and as a fair amount of sweetness. I also feel that the burley is the predominant lead in this blend. A joy to snork, this tobacco is relatively consistent throughout the smoke. It’s definitely something different and worth a try.

Appearance - mid-brown, finely cut shag. It burns easily, but doesn't taste of much other than tobacco, and I agree with the other reviewers who compared it to cigarette tobacco. Disappointing, as it's the first Gawith Hoggarth tobacco that I haven't liked, but I definitely won't be buying this again.
