Gawith Hoggarth - Burley & Bright.

Oh dear, what a monstrosity: it's too finely cut; producing hot smoke, any toppings used taste like plasticine, the tobacco flavours don't exist, the nicotine's low, it bites like mad, and I can't say if it improves after half a bowl or so as I can't smoke it that long.

Rubbish: Not recommended.

One star.

I was very disappointed with this one. This was the first GH blend I've tried that didn't earn at least three stars. It was somewhat harsh and irritating with very little of either burley's traditional "nutty" flavor or sweetness from the Vas. The flavoring was little better -- basically the same type of vanilla/cocoa sauce that's found on countless American aromatics, only it clashed terribly with the base leaf. And, to add insult to injury, it bit me some. Definitely not recommended.

Flavoring = none. I beg to differ. If you want to smoke a bowl of baby powder get some of this. The Lakeland "perfume" is so strong in this that it completely prohibits any tobacco flavor from coming through. I managed to smoke a bowl a couple of days ago. Tried again today and gave up at the half way point. I would try drying it to see if that helps, but it came bone dry so that option is out.

Mild to medium in body. Medium to strong in perfume. There is no taste other than perfume. Burns very well.

Appearance - mid-brown, finely cut shag. It burns easily, but doesn't taste of much other than tobacco, and I agree with the other reviewers who compared it to cigarette tobacco. Disappointing, as it's the first Gawith Hoggarth tobacco that I haven't liked, but I definitely won't be buying this again.
