A very good aromatic with vanilla and chocolate tones that doesn't burn too hot (for an aromatic). While this is a good overall blend, it is very reminiscent of Bufflehead's cinnamon teal. However, I find cinnamon teal superior due to its depth of flavour and consistency during smoking a bowlfull. Blue Note is good, but I will only start smoking it regularly when I run out of cinnamon teal.

I find this blend very hard to smoke. The base tobaccos are unpleasant, with a taste I can only describe as "cheap", while the topping seems very chemical to me.

Having never really ventured into the world of drugstore blends and cheap house blends, I have no tolerance for them. Like Captain Black White, this gets dumped halfway through the bowl.

This is an excellent all day smoke, I find it's a pleasurable experience every time. The room note is nice it stays with you while you are enjoying your bowl. This one has no tongue bite at all allowing you to just enjoy yourself. I'm going to have to replenish my supply soon it looks like I've been dipping into this one more then the other ones in my rotation. This one lights well and burns down easy. Has just enough flavor not in your face more smooth the way a good aromatic should be. If you are an aromatic person give this a try.

Meh. You don't taste much of the Virginia or Burley tobacco in this one, but it's a heavy aromatic with an ok flavor at first. It is what it is. Initially, it's a rich vanilla with several other flavors there that I can't really describe. Maybe chocolate? Cherry? Berry? Whiskey? Hard to say. But halfway through, it starts to get weird and chemical-y. It does have that oily/greasy feel that I usually hate in a blend, too.

The smoke is thick and billowy... and it does have a fairly nice room note that other people can enjoy. Plus, it was a cool smoke with zero tongue bite.

Bottom line: It's a heavy aromatic if that's what you're looking for. Sweet, interesting flavors; rich smoke; no bite. My advice, smoke the first half of the bowl and then knock the rest out.

Oh karma, why must you be so cruel?

Yesterday I wrote a review for one of my favorite aromatics, and spent time blathering on about how aromatics get a bad rap, and how most of the time it is not the tobacco itself that is the problem but the way in which it is smoked.

Today grabbed this beauty from the back of my cellar (received as a free sample in 2008, put in a jar and forgot about) and found a blend to completely negates everything about my assertions yesterday.

Keep in mind this is an aromatic that is 12 years old. Most aromatics do not age well, and this one was not stellar to begin with.

The taste of this blend is .....nothing. It smells great in the jar, but there is no flavor at all. Completely non existent. For me at times the one redeeming quality of blends of this nature is the room note, and that is not even impressing me. I think there might be a higher quantity of PG than tobacco here, this stuff is still stick to your fingers gooey after 12 years. Wouldn't recommend at all.

I used to smoke this one when I was in my early twenties so I decided to revisit it. I remember getting tongue bite from this one when I was a kid and when I got it, it was wet and sticky, so I let this blend dry out for about twelve hours before i smoked it. It still smokes a little warm, but not quite as scalding hot as I remembered. Maybe it’s caused I used my Savenelli churchwarden which is one of my most solid pipes, maybe it’s cause I let it dry out for so long idk. Whatever the case this tobacco is heavily flavored so don’t say I didn’t warn you. Will it ghost a pipe? Umm Yeah... But the room note is amazing. It smells like vanilla, marshmallow and berries. I will also say that I bought this with the intent of blending it with black cavendish to tone it down a bit and get it to burn a little cooler. Anyways, I would recommend this one if you like aromatics, but if don’t like aromatics you will definitely hate this one the most, because it is probably one of most aromaticy of the aromatics and as I mentioned before, it can burn hot so be careful.

Not to be confused with Torben Dansk Blue Note, this is a good aromatic, but not on the same level as TD's.

Medium/dark brown tobacco with flakes of black. Ribbon cut, with some excessive moisture. Pack lightly. Pouch aroma you can definitely detect the vanilla and chocolate. The caramel not so much. I do think there may be just a touch of alcohol, if you inhale deeply, you can smell it.

This is a good aromatic, but how many chocolate/vanilla/caramel mixes can we smoke? It all comes down to quality tobaccos and the absence of humectants. The wife loves the room note on this, it does leave a creamy chocolate aroma hanging in the air. Definitely a crowd pleaser. Blue Note is a great value. Burns well, hardly any moisture, and no tongue bite.

Another free pouch I received from Altadis years ago that I happened to stumble upon this morning. I actually enjoyed this blend much more than I thought I would, I smoked two bowls this afternoon and evening with the girlfriend raving about the room note. Compromised of the usual burley and Cavendish in a ribbon cut with what I assume is a vanilla and chocolate topping which although needing some dry time burned pretty clean without hissing or popping and very little dottle. I have enjoyed most of the Tobacco Galleria pouches I was sent, especially Fox & Hound, Montego Bay and the Rum and Maple and this was at the top of those flavor wise, they are inexpensive and offer a great variety. A good choice for the aromatic smoker looking for a light and forget evening pipe that will please those around them.

Its a blend I enjoyed but defiantly very chemically, the flavour was a bit overwhelming and it was quite damp. I dont know why but the flavour was reminiscent of skittles, not like a flavour in skittles, but if you took and summed up skittles as a whole, that would be the flavour. If that makes any sense at all. I was able to smoke the whole pack and I it was enjoyable from start to finish.
