I'm not sure why this tobacco only gets an average of 2 stars. I think it is a solid 3 stars. It smokes well with a rich, sweet pleasant taste and good room aroma. Not sure what exactly I'm tasting but I think some vanilla and hazelnut. All I know is I like it. Once you get down the last 1/8th of the bowl it starts to taste a little like burnt tobacco but for the money that's okay with me. That's the only reason why I didn't give it 4 stars. Fairly cool burning, no tongue bite, no gook. Enjoy!!!

Sutliff Tobacco Co. Tobacco Galleria - Blue Note.
Normally I wait until the afternoon to smoke an aromatic but seeing as I was out of bed at 5:00am due to an episode with my Basset Hound I started piping early! Blue Note, then:
I can see why some folks may find this disagreeable, it's rather potent with additives! My blend never required any drying time, a bowl lit fresh; but, it was supplied in bulk from Smokingpipes.com, not factory sealed. The caramel needs very little effort to pick out, is the stronger of the bunch, and the vanilla and chocolate are of an equal weight, just behind. Regarding any alcohol, I pick up a slight alcoholic trait, but nothing idiosyncratic enough to add a label to. The tobaccos give primarily a VaBur taste, sweetened by the Cavendish; so, the flavour from them isn't too sticky. Blue Note smokes without bite, and goes relatively cool. My only issue is it can be too quick.
Nicotine: mild. Room-note: very nice.
Blue Note? Nothing spectacular, but a decent enough smoke. Recommended:
Three stars.

This is my first experience with Altadis blends. I enjoyed the smell of the pouch, but found the tobacco to be unpleasant to smoke. The tobacco was good, but the casing/flavor seemed "chemically". I disliked the blend so much that after smoking 1/3 of the bag I gave it away to a friend instead of throwing it away.
I tried smoking it in a briar, churchwarden, and corncob, and it burned well, but the flavor didn't improve any. Leaves a lot of gooey residue even if you smoke it slowly and leave it on a plate for 1/2 an hour before smoking it.
The aroma was ok. My wife who likes many of my tobaccos said that the smell of this blend was her least favorite of the some 6 tobaccos that I have smoked in our apartment.
I think I will try one more Altadis blend, Montego Bay, before giving up on the brand...

This is my review: What little time I did spend smoking this blend is all the time I care to give to it. It was the second worst blend I have ever smoked...period.

Flavor: Some sweetness, mostly PG.
Complexity: None
Aroma: Sweet but undertermined, perhaps a hint of vanilla but mostly humectants.
Tin/pouch aroma: Vanilla and humectant with some hints of stale and cheap tobacco.
Room note: A wife pleaser, unfortunately I need more than a pleasant room note to like a pipe tobacco.
Burning characteristics: Few relights, leaves a lot of gunk in your pipe though.
Cut/Moisture content: Loose cut and moisture content isn't bad considering it's an aromatic. It's loaded with PG though.
Overall: Altadis isn't a company I hold in very high esteem. Some of their cigars are pretty decent but their pipe weeds are unremarkable and, sometimes, unenjoyable. This is probably one of their most decent offerings but not something I'd recommend since there are much better blends out there. I got a free sample in the mail but I wouldn't waste my time with it again.

I find it remarkable how inconsistent the Tobacco Galleria series is. While some smoke fine, others are cursed with some truly low grade leaf. This may vary from batch to batch, I don't really know. No matter how good the sauce is, you just can't hide low quality, poorly aged tobacco.
Fortunately, I didn't have this problem with Blue Note. It is a classic Cavendish blend with a nice choco-nilla casing. I too found it to be a bit like Captain Black Royal, but toned down, and not as wet. It reminded me of a nice cup of hot cocoa. Very pleasant.
As I've said before, I like all genres of pipe tobacco, so long as quality ingredients are used. It then comes down to personal taste. While I like a bit more complexity,I can certainly recommend it to other pipesters who have a penchance for this sort of sweet, straight-forward aromatic. It is certainly worth a try.

This is a Sutliff aromatic masterpiece Good Job!!! What a super pleasant smoke, the tobacco is another beautiful blend of tobaccos like Mark Twain its soft and the colors are bold but not bright, the moisture is there but just falls short enough to begin smoking right out of the bag and the nicotine level is low enough to make it a all day smoke. It is very smooth and has a taste that is very pleasing with hints of vanilla and almost a marshmallow chocolate that has a background of caramel with a splash if liquor that rounds out the taste in a sweet way but not over done. I love how the tobacco taste is always in the background and stays that way all the way through the bowl. When you first smell it from the bag it keeps you coming back to smell it and the room note is very pleasant which is always a plus. I have smoked the German blue note which is quite pricey but this blue note is easy on the pocket book (or credit card) amd taste so much better in many ways. This is high quality tobaccos with NO chemical taste at all and I am smoking it now and loving it PLUS with a cup good French Roast on the morning you cannot go wrong trust me. The one thing that suprises the heck out of me to is that it will not ghost the crap out of your pipe but that I actually made a nice cake in one of my pipes with it that is well seasoned and helps makes most other aromatics taste well rounded and smoke really good BUT if your picky I would smoke Blue Note in a corn cob because it will leave the taste of a vanilla liquor behind of you smoke it more than a few times in one bowl bit its not a powerhouse when I refer to typical ghosting. For a novice pipe smoker I highly recommend this because its so enjoyable and easy going to smoke until the end and at the bottom of the bowl you get treated with alittle spice, sometimes it will even start in from the middle down I love this stuff. This pipe tobacco blend has made my list of enjoyable aromatics to smoke anytime of the day and I would and will buy more of this over and over, PipesandCigars.com is the best place to purchase Blue Note so I also recommend getting it from them you will not be disappointed. Two thumbs up again Good Job Sutliff!!! Try Blue Note today...

Pouch smells very nice, smoke smells very nice, smoke tastes very nice, pouch should not be tasted. The cavendish adds that "blue note" to the "jazzy chord" that this blend is. To all you nay-sayers, keep it up, more Blue Note for me!

Great flavorfull aromatic. If you like tobacco that taste good then here it is.Stays lit and keeps its flavor all the way to the bottom wich is very rare for altadis. If youre a true aromatic smoker, youll love this.Dont know why non-aromatic smokers keep reviewing aromatic tobacco. Its like me saying Budweiser is no good when I dont even drink beer.Blue Note is a excellent tobacco for aromatic lovers.

This tobacco was very easy to keep lit. It has a very nice room note that will draw in a lot of compliments from non-smokers. I even had a few ask me for a few puffs!
This is definitely my favorite of the 4 free packs of Altadis tobacco I got. I don't know what the heck Green River tobacco is but it sure is good. I recommend this as an anytime smoke.
