Peter Stokkebye Sweet Vanilla (No.6)
(3.28)
Ripe Virginias are added to Toasted Cavendish to create a more complex mild smoking blend. The aroma is an Elegant Vanilla with the natural sweetness of Toasted Cavendish combine for a smooth and rich smoke. According to Peter Stokkebye; The toasting process takes the tobacco to a much higher heat, locking in the natural sweet tobacco flavors and eliminating any tongue bite.

The 1st non drug store blend I ever smoked, and is still one of my favorites. No bite, very nice flavor, perfectly moist, and real pleasant room note that's girlfriend approved. Even bone dry fresh out of the cellar as I'm smoking it now, it's still a decent smoke, but is better fully hydrated.

I've been searching for an aromatic tobacco that tastes like tobacco. I think I have found it! out of the jar it smells strongly of vanilla. It packs easily and is a cinch to light. It burns well and doesn't get too hot like some blends can. But most importantly (for me) you can taste the sweetness of the Virginias, the burley provides a slight nutty background flavor. The vanilla flavoring is consistent through out the smoke. I can smoke this all day.

First pipe tobacco I ever smoked. Enjoyed it then and still do. Opening the bag reminds me of my uncle who smoked a pipe. Not over powering and burns slowly and cool, even when straight out of the shipment bag. Only smoke when I go fly fishing and my non-smoking buddy enjoys the aroma.

If you're looking for a really great aromatic, then PS #6 Sweet Vanilla is what you're looking for! I love Peter Stokkebye tobaccos, and this one is a perfect example of why. It has a sweet taste and smell that kind of reminds me of a fresh sugar cookie; and the room note is so pleasant and sweet, it is impossible not to like it. Picture the smell of a really nice vanilla candle. Even given the amount of flavor (and vanilla scent) you get from this tobacco; the top dressing is not over done, so you don't get that "oily" feel from the tobacco. It does burn a little warm, but it is hardly even noticeable. One of my favorites, and highly recommended.

I like this one. I like Sweet Vanilla Honeydew, so I tried this one. I like it. In fact I may prefer it to Honeydew. This one is a nice Vanilla, and appears to smoke milder than Honeydew. I'm putting it in my rotation and making it my new go to Vanilla.

I received my 4oz order of this today and was keen to try it out. Wow, what a huge disappointment. This is just a sweet sickly mess. To call it pipe tobacco would be insulting to tobacco. It is covered in a sweet casing that produces a wet sickly sweet smoke. No taste or smell of tobacco. Hardly any vanilla taste or smell. There's some sort of chemical added that makes the mouth water and generates a sweet flow of saliva. It's like trying to smoke a fruity hard boiled sweet. I smoked one pipeful then threw the rest of my pack away.

I am new to pipe smoking (less than a month), so by no means am I qualified to review....but review I will. This is my first vanilla, and I like it very much.when first opening the bag, the aroma is exquisite. Definite vanilla. To look at, it is wonderful too. Great contract with the light brown and near black cavendish.
Char light was easy, but, as opposed to other reviews, I did have a little difficulty keeping it lit. The room note is very sweet, but the smoke is just right. I have tried a Bourkam Riff cherry, and this is much smoother. Definitely one I will smoke in my future rotation. Comparable to my beloved Suttcliff Molto dulce, and will rotate the two.

This stuff is simply fantastic! Mild, sweet, and flavorful. Damn cheap too! I can fully agree with Strongirish and his assessment below. Peter Stokkebye's Sweet Vanilla is in my top five best aromatic smoking experiences! A true hidden gem!

I cant believe theres less than ten ratings for this blend . A very pretty looking blend thats super easy to lite and keep lit . It isnt heavily cased but isnt super mild ... it's just right . You taste the Va and taste vanilla and the room note is nice . This blend burns cool and dosent bite and has a little ' tang ' at times from the Va . This is good stuff . strongirish is right ... this can be smoked all day .. w/out any issues . I really enjoy the full mouth of smoke you get from this blend . I could stand it a little heavier all around but there is nothing not to like in this blend imo . P.S. is one of the great companys for sure .
