Caledonian Highland cream is definitely a nice tobacco, good quality, but I found that the casing was a bit too overwhelming, thus making it hard to taste the tobacco itself.

it sure smelled good in the tin, but it was a bit hard to lit up and tokeep lit; and because of that, it would overheat a bit and start the tongue bite attack before reaching mid-bowl.

Definitively recommended for those who like a good quality tobacco thatis fairly cased.

I f you do not like fairly cased bakkies, I wouldn't recommend it.

As I am, new to the pipe world, I have to contribute with my share of my so ongoing experience. I found this, as it was given to me at my 18'th birthday by a couple of close friends, simingly tastful and rather sweer just as I opened the tin. I were not to be betraied. The smoke tasted like a combination between sweet sugar and bitter juice, and it was not as harsh to my throat as other aromatics had been. I'd say it has been treating me nicely, and greeting me in to the world of pipes in a splendid fashion.

But I do think I will go on, to more advanced and sofisticated tobaccos.

Here's a tobacco that I'd thought about purchasing many times, but was always discouraged by what I thought would end up being an overpowering aromatic flavor..Not so at all. Upon opening the can and removing the a.c.petersen paper disc thing, I promptly stuck my finger into the stuff to get a feel of it. It is soft and delicate, but not delicate to a point of fragility. The tin aroma is really entrancing; you can smell the sugary goodness of the aged virginias, along with, but not overwhelmed by, the topper of the cream whiskey. The tobacco packs well, although it gets a few "tricky" points for being a longer-cut tobacco so the ribbons of leaf are a little tougher to get into the bowl, but no REAL big deal. Being an aromatic blend, the moisture content is pretty high in this one, but not too horrible. However, its quite difficult to get a good char going, and it'll take a couple of minutes after taht to get the good smoldering effect. However, as soon as the tobacco is properly lit, the flavor really comes into its own. This, being a virginia based tobacco, gives me a horrible sense of bite no matter how slowly I smoke, however, the flavor is so deep and rich that I could not resist finishing up the bowl. Like many rich-topped tobacs, the flavor is pretty much one-dimensional and straightforward through the entire bowl, but this is by no means a bad thing! In closing, if you are a fan of aromatics, or are looking for one that has fine tobaccos along with a delicious topper, look no further!

I'm really not into aromatics, but this blend is one of the few that I would chose if I get in the mood. It has a tobacco taste to it, and the room note is just wonderful! It really "lifts" the the room!

From the first time i smelled it (in the smokers section of a danish train) I knew I must try this one! I did, fell in love with it, got tired of it and let it go.

If you're looking for something that will please almost anyone when smoked indoors, this is the one to go for!

A great tobacco, it is always a great thing to open a new tin of this blend. It is aromatic, but not overwhelming like other aromatics. It is easy to fill into the pipe and it smokes pretty well. The flavour is nice and you can smell particularly the cavendish. The topping highland cream whisky is very pleasant but not too strong: you can still smell the real tobacco flavour.

I think the tin description of the website is incorrect. I just see (and smell) bright virginia, black cavendish and highland cream aroma. No orientals or latakia at all!

This is a lovely blend. Its like opening a bottle of 12 year old scotch, very much enjoyed when smoked slowly. It packed quite well, although i found it a little dry out of the tin, but that didnt seem to make any difference. It got a little hot towards the bottom, but that may have been my fault for smoking it a little fast. I will buy it again when i can find it.

This is the kind of aromatic tobacco all new pipe smokers should try. I bought it as I always like to have a "sweet tooth" tobacco on hand for when the mood takes me.

Presentation is superb. Nicely printed textured labelling, ruffled paper inside and a card cover with individual quality code. Very similar to a Dunhill product.

Tin aroma is delicious - boozy toffee with tobacco. The tin states "easy to fill and easy to smoke". It's not wrong on either count. A tasty aromatic smoke with no bite but with a definite subtle tobacco flavour. In this respect similar to another Orlik aromatic - Alsbo Black. The whisky flavouring is detectable but not overwhelming. Room note is very pleasant for others.

Recommended in it's category.

IMO, this tobacco is in a similar vein to other aromatics such as Alsbo Black, Mac Baren Black Ambrosia and Original Choice and WO Larsen Simply Unique.

Surprisingly, this tobacco isn't available from any online tobacconists I know of in the UK, I got it from Germany - where it is a bestselling brand

A soft mix. A mix of light tobaccos Virginia with Black Cavendish. The bouquet and the light perfume of this whisky, guarantee its unique flavor of this mix. It can easily be smoked by itself. In the beginning you do not understand the difference, however after 1-2 smoking, you feel a pleasure. I smoke it also in combination with Larsen No 50 or Barbary Coast. Best Regards

This aromatic has a following in Sweden (and probably elsewhere) that makes it sometimes unobtainable in the shops! Clubs smoking only this weed have been formed which says something about the tobacco, but also about the monomanic minds of some people 😉

I can sit and sniff in the tin for hours. It just smells so wonderful. When stuffed in the pipe it is a sure crowd pleaser and strangers walk up to greet you with altruistic attitudes towards pipe smokers in general and especially you!

It is a wonderful smoke, however after half a tin I tend to get a "sweetness overdose" and start to long for a "rougher" baccy altogether, maybe a Premier Cru or a Red Rapparee or something. It is like eating a pound of milk toffee, you start to look for licorice in the candy jar. Or a whisky. But that doesnt stop me from a hearty recommendation of this, smoked to measure.

The first couple of bowls of this blend seemed a little tame to me. The flavor didn't pound my palate, but later that turned out to be a good thing. It does benefit from a bit of drying first, though.

Having been through about an ounce of a tin of this blend, it has grown on me. The taste is by no means overwhelming. It is nice and smooth. You can puff pretty hard on this blend without getting a burn. Some care has to be put into the packing ritual, especially if you pack it fresh out of the tin. A slight packing error and your pipe will be punished with flaming hot walls.

All in all I have found this blend to be a nice and soothing experience that I and my surroundings enjoy a lot. This blend will find its way to my "stash" again.
