I received a 14oz bag of this last week and broke the seal last night to taste. I was hopeful that at less than $21/lb. I had bought something both affordable and worthy of stockpiling. Alas, no. I have both Peter Stokkebeye's English Luxury and English Oriental Supreme on hand and this is definitely NOT either (at this time). In the bag it gave off a hint of "Englishness", but that did not carry through under fire. What Latakia is in it was lost. The rest of the "astonishing array of refined flavors" were too muddled to identify unless one considers notes of celery seeds and parsley among that array. The very narrow ribbon cut looked more like cigarette shag, and indeed, toward the end of each trial bowl I felt that I had just smoked a cigarette (despite the few strands of darker tobaccos in it). My wife even commented that it smelled like a cigarette. Smokable? Yes. Worth stockpiling? Not really.
