(2.48)
A soft and sweet vanilla rounded out with a complex fruity background. Smooth, mild, and cool. It tastes as great as it smells.

I was surprised that this was dry in the pouch, not dripping with humicant like other aromatics. Then again, that is what other John Middleton blends have been like. Obviously, no gurgle or wet heel. Burley is the predominant taste. I gave it away to a Captain Black fan

This blend has been out a number of years and I've come by it a few months back .It DOSENT bite . The wife digs the aroma . It isnt a vannilla bomb ... it's rather soft as it says . It burns nice and you get a full mouth of smoke . It's a touch moist but not to much . It is a mass market product after all . All in all a good quality Aromatic that is better than most . If you like aromatics then I'd say give this a shot . You'll probably be suprised . I've mentioned this blend to other smokers and have only gotten like reviews back . If you only like Vir or lat blends then you cant handle this stuff no doubt . A good quality blend w/ a burley undertone ... well done . I get 9 oz for 13.59 . Easy to afford 🙂

Soft Vanilla it is, with a very faint touch of creamy fruit. The nutty burley flavor is right there with the creamy vanilla/fruit flavor. It's not a flavor bomb, but quite relaxing, and a great smoke after a year long hiatus from piping. Consistently bite-free, and tasty with a cup of coffee.
The cut is a bit coarse, good sized chips of tobacco, 1/2 dark cavendish, 1/4 brown, & 1/4 bright leaf. After a couple early re-lights & easy tamping, it stays lit. Strangely, PA Soft Vanilla is not goopy, and does not leave my pipes with a wet nasty ghost As with piping, resist the urge to pack too tightly, and tamp conservatively, & smoke slowly. A solid 3 stars.

i am new to pipe smoking. i like anything vanilla flavored so generally i leaned towards trying something vanilla flavored so i went to my local smoke shop and purchased a bag of this. i was pleasantly surprised with pretty much every aspect of the smoking experience. it definitely was not a harsh smoke it was very soft and smooth. i enjoyed the taste. the vanilla was not overpowering but it was still there. the price was very low considering the value i put into this tobacco i plan on trying many other kinds of Tobacco as im sure all of you do but i will keep some of this stuff around. oh it also goes great with coffee =)

This would be the tobacco I would recommend to a new smoker. It's mild, it's very soft as the name claims, it has a good flavor for such a mild blend, and it smells great in the room note. However, it is way to soft and mild for me and thus was not very satisfying. It is a multicolored mix of ribbon cut in the pouch with a terrific pouch aroma smelling fruity and vanilla like. It loaded very easy in the pipe, I found it to be moist but nut in the sticky, gummy way many aros are. It lit up with to lights and smoked down to a soft grey ash with very little dottle and not with any gunk in the bottom of my pipe. It has a very nice sweet, vanilla taste, but not very much of it. It did retain it's taste all the way down and did not lose it like a lot of vanilla blends. It was bite free, but I kept trying to smoke it faster and harder to get the delicous taste from it. If an inexperienced smoker did this, I'm sure it would scald their tongue. When puffed too fast, instead of more of the sweet taste, it tended to get bitter. This blend would not be one I would put in my cellar, it lives up to it's name and there sure are a lot worse blends.

Yes close to but not as harsh as Captian black white. Soft like the packaage says. A nice aroamtic with both light and dark tobaccos. A sweet blend that can gets tangy or orange tasting on and off. Pack easy no need to tamper just light it up. A real lady pleaser. A good smoke on a hot summers day. I am not a fan of vanilla blends becuase they often are a Virginia. The burley give this blend body and flavor. Nice stuff. REDDO

I have somehow turned into a very snooty high-end Peterson pipe smoking snoob. I am 62 year old now, I have bought every kind of vanilla aromatic there is on the market, most favorite probably McBarron Irish cream flake,my dad used to smoke a corncob and nothing but Prince Albert soft vanilla for years and years and years. I've cellared some of the last prime bag that he bought back in 2006, every 5 years I pack a bowl of it and smoke it and I still think it holds up. Zero bite, nobody complains about the room note, just smoke some of it that was stored 14 years ago still smokes like a dream...

John Middleton - Prince Albert Soft Vanilla.
The aroma from the pouch is enticing: sweet, vanilla. Mine wasn't the 9 ounce bag pictured, but a 1 and 1/2 ounce bag, and the moisture to the fairly coarse ribbons gained applause from me. Black Cavendish makes up the least, it's primarily medium brown.
At first light, my inaugurate thought was 'wow, MASSIVE plumes!'. Throughout a bowl PASV makes big clouds of smoke; cool and bite free. The flavour? Well the tobacco side is a simple Burley/Cavendish, I don't get much, if any, sticky black Cavendish. Of the toppings the vanilla leads, but as a smoke progresses the alcoholic side makes itself known, becoming a contradistinction to the name Soft. It burns at a medium speed.
Nicotine: mild. Room-note: nice, but there's SO MUCH smoke!
Prince Albert Soft Vanilla? A little mundane, ergo, two stars:
Somewhat recommended.

Pretty much what you would expect if you have had PA. Its just PA with a "little more than subtle" vanilla topper. everything mild, burley and vanilla, both soft and unassuming. Great smoke for mowing the grass but solving the problems of the world will require a more robust blend.
W
y better than any of the Captain Black blends. Other than CB Gold. Just a little better than CB Gold. In fact, CBG + PASV might mike a pretty good smoke.

I am a fairly new pipe smoker and have so far tried about 10 different tobaccos. I love the smell of this tobacco in the pouch. Like some of the other reviewers I found almost no taste when smoking it. It's not unpleasant, just not much there at all. I might just keep a pouch of this around to smell on occasion!

Back when I first bought a pipe I bought a one pound bag of this and thought why did I ever start smoking a pipe. Luckilly I have moved on to truly great tobacco's. This tobacco isn't one of the greats. Use in desperation if you dare.
