I love this stuff. Volumes of smoky rich taste. As a cigar smoker I have been wondering if I could find the same bliss with a pipe. I have tried many four star blends and this is my favorite so far....But I can't find any! Anyone know where it is sold or if it has a different name in bulk?

I bought this as a OTC pouch blend in Spain it was so inexpensive that I did not have high hopes. On opening it had a pleasant natural tobacco aroma. The taste is smooth no rough edges, doesn't bight mild to medium with no flavourings detected,Its not a lat bomb. The VA's are prominent throughout the bowl the Burley is more of a condiment, the mild very smooth Latakia leads. This blend ages well in a jar.Bottom line this is a very pleasant blend that I continue to buy regularly.3.5 stars

This tobacco was bought as part of a Latakia sampler pack. The tobacco has a pleasant scent (for Latakia lovers), and the blend looks like a good measure of the Syrian queen mixed with bits of Burley and Virginia, all mixed together in a coarse cut. My sample also included a massive part of uncut leaf - but I don't think that is part of the official mixture! No matter, I sliced it up to blend in using a pair of barber's scissors. This is the first blend that I have smoked which I know for sure contains Syrian Latakia, and it takes centre-stage. I hhave to say, I don't really care for it too much. I prefer the more powerful punch of (what I presume is) Cypriot Latakia found in other blends. The Syrian seems to be a sweeter, more 'blunt' kind of taste, that lingers with a soft, sweet aftertaste. It's not bad, but Cypriot seems more to my liking, more smoky, 'meaty', punchy & rich. It's also lighter in vitamin N than what I usually like. The room note is what you would expect, but this Latakia may appeal more to non-Lat lovers as it is a slightly sweeter smell, more mild & not so overpowering. In view of my experience, I am glad that I tried it, but I won't be buying it again. There may be a slight casing, a slight syrup-like taste could be due to the sweeter Latakia & sweet light Virginias involved.

It's not much to say about it, other than the fact that is well blended quality tobacco. Burns well, smokes nice, tastes great. It is at least a "must try". I do not like it as much as I like JJ Fox Bankers or F&K Merde de Cheval, but it is a tobacco that I will keep in my stash.

Did a bit of research as I wanted to know where this tobacco is coming from and finally ended up with Ermuri Genuss Company, a German manufacturer known for its beginner pipe-sets and smoking equipment mostly. Their McLintock Tobaccos are mainly aromatics and in the lower price section so I did not really expect much surprises with it, except for bad ones maybe.

Opening the tin got me both pleased and unsure as by the smell it is very sweet with hints of marzipan or almond and not so much spice. Is this an aromatic too?! Looking at the leaf, it surprised me again. There was VA Burley and Latakia mentioned in its description and now I could see all kinds of golden and brown color tones from light to dark almost black here and there also pieces of pressed, steamed tobaccos. Moisture is ok but I never smoke a tobacco as moist as it’s in the tin.

Packs just nice after a bit of drying and takes flames easily then burns cool and even until there’s only light gray ashes left. The taste surprised me another time as it has a good depth and great spicy undertone. This is not Syrian leaf anymore but tastes nice and with lots of roasting aromas. All natural no added flavor just the kind of blends I like. No big ups and downs as the bowl goes had to relight a few times but never tasted odd. Bit of sour hay-like notes.. pretty much all of the assets of different sorts of VA.

Solid all day with a good variety of tastes of only natural tobacco flavors used. Great price also

As Syrian latakias become more rare finding a blend with them is luck.once the pouch seal is broken a florall smell mixed with english blend smell comes out.sweet notes, campfire and some sour notes combine to a dry blend° easy to pack and light with a few relights needed through the process.while smoking you instantly recognize the burleys.lots of florall notes, nuts, beans are the main flavours.syrian latakias come second adding campfire notes, coals, woodsy and lots of sweet notes.virginias support the flavours by adding some grass and citrusy notes.generally the flavours combine well but i would prefer less sharp notes from the burleys.burns quick and medium hot to perfect ash with some moisture left at the filter.no tongue bite present though some sharp notes appear frequent with a sweet aftertaste.the room note is tolerable.nicotine level is another weak spot.i would prefer more nicotine.an all day smoke for those who prefer latakias for every hour.generally i found this blend pleasant but not as good as other blends with Syrian latakias.recommended.

The topping in this blend has a lethal effect on the Syrian Latakia. It would have been better just Virginias and Burley... More natural, more complex... Everything else is perfect (easy smoke and so...)

Nice smell off the tin, pungent and sour. The tin art represents a dark woolen fabric and the tobacco is packed in plastic.

The nuttiness of the Burley is in the forefront accompanied by the Latakia burnt wood flavor. Virginias give it that tangy, cigarette like taste and bitterness. Overall a decent tobacco with a little topping. It burns to a white ash and is best enjoyed if left in a pipe for some hours prior to enjoyment.

This tobacco is not bad, but if you compare with HH syrian it's a disapointed tobacco.
