This blend is of a very high quality as are the other Serad blends and upon opening the tin you see a wonderful combo of dark medium cut leaf. The tin odor is wonderful with the raisin odor of the perique wafting through along with the latakia. The burley only makes its prescence known when smoked. Packing is easy, the moisture appears perfect as with all the C&D blends. Lighting was a little more labor intensive (about 5 vestas).Flavor starts out with the nutty grassiness common to burley blends, but settles into a nice rich quartet in moments.About half-way into the bowl, the perique makes a grand entrance. For some that is a welcome, but for me it made me anything but "tranquil". This blend just has too much perique for me to enjoy. The blend finishes all the way down the bowl with just grey mottled ash and dry, but after six bowls, I have given the rest of the tin away to a friend who appreciates perique more that I do. I much prefer Black Dawg, Canal Boat, Da Vinci, and of course my favorite C&D blend by Mr Serad: Longevity...
