Dan Tobacco Alter Pinnas
(3.33)
Soft grades of Virginia and burley, Kentucky and black cavendish. Gently sweet bouquet. Wide, square cut, with a slow and cool burn. Especially suited to pipes with wide bowls.
The broad cut lets it burn slow and cool. Alter Pinnas offers an uncomplicated, pleasant smelling pleasure.
Notes: Named after a disused sailing-ship (called "Pinnasse" in the norther German accent), which once was found at the Elbe's beach of St. Pauli (nowadays called "Pinnasberg") and at the end of the 19th century it became a popular restaurant destination.

I fully agree with the reviews by Alguhan and The German. Alter Pinnas is an easy to smoke tobacco that produces a nice creamy smoke with a mellow, almost unflavored tobacco taste. It also is a good blend for those seeking a smoke that fills the gap between a sweet danish mixture or aromatic and more natural virginia blends. As far as strength is concerned imho a little more power would have been nice. Nevertheless it's a high quality all day smoke I can fully recommend to every pipesmoker. Might be a good choice for those who just started pipesmoking, too. Especially because it is not overwhelmingly flavored or strong and wont require much attention while puffing.
