Seattle Pipe Club Give Me Liberty

(3.00)
“Give me Liberty or Give me Death” Founding Father Patrick Henry’s powerful speech in 1775 helped ignite the War for Independence. His cry for Liberty still rings true. Tobacco farming was at the heart of Early America. This special blend is predominantly Old Belt Red Virginias from North Carolina combined with some lightly stoved Virginia from Brazil. Old Belt is the nation’s oldest tobacco market. Tobacco is aged and pressed into an easy to use plug. The result is a beautiful mahogany colored Virginia for a smooth and zesty all day smoke.

I really enjoyed the Hogshead , a fine smoke all the way . I was looking forward to try this new one . Upon opening I found a really wet tobacco , way moister than most tobaccos I have smoked . It was very difficult prepare some slices for a smoke . They were hard to cut and gooey to pack . Lighting took some time due to the moisture . This is a super sweet smoke that needed to be relit often . It , at least , can be called an aromatic in my book . The old belt and Brazilian should have some sugar but this one goes way up the hill . I was really shocked that this was , in my opinion , not in the same presentation league as Hogshead . Then again , I will let it dry out and try it again when desert conditions began to cover the Earth . Although this blend is not meant to be an aromatic I must say that there is something that is overly sweet that hurts the Virginia . I will , however , finish the can and report back if I am wrong
