HU Tobacco The Bullet
(2.50)
This is a medium strong pleasant spicy ready rubbed flake from dark red Virginia, mixed with a pinch of perique and a hint of Havana and Brazil tobacco. The pronounced malty and discreetly tart sweetness of red Virginia is wonderfully supported by the spicy tobaccos and great rounded. We have added a new, specially developed flavor as a topping to this mixture. The result is a pleasantly spicy and at the same time subtly fruity sourish blend, whose iridescent taste always provides tension without being uneasy. If you like great natural tobaccos and are not averse to an enigmatic topping, who wants to get involved in a taste adventure and always has the tobacco qualities in mind, you should try this tobacco.

I ought to clarify before delving into details that I don't consider this blend to be an aromatic. I suspect something may have changed between an earlier release and the present version but I would not classify this blend as an aromatic or even slightly aromatic.
I purchased this blend because I've been very pleased with the "Latakia-free" offerings from HU and in particular the very satisfying varieties of blends on offer that comprise varying proportions of Virginia, Burley, Perique (and occasionally "Havana" and Kentucky).
The Bullet is an attractive, golden-mottled broken flake composed of Dark Red Virginia, Perique, Havana and Brazilian leaf. The nose was subdued and refined, and the Virginia-Brazilian-Havana base bore forth a sweet wheaf chaff and honeydew bouquet.
At the match, the sweet Virginias commingled with arabesques of Oriental-like and softly bitter-nutty notes from the Brazilian and Havana, and tantalizing Perique bass-notes; the demure treacle mouthfeel with a tenuous Lilac aroma imparted depth and intrigue to the noble base tobaccos.
This is a subtle blend inbued with spirit and effervescence, and quite easily a new favorite. I would take the liberty of likening it to Germain's Kingfisher with the addition of spicy condimental Havana performing in an almost Oriental condimental fashion.
