The Krater Plug is a medium strength, pleasantly sweet and spicy plug tobacco. For experienced pipe smokers it's a wonderful tobacco. Yet due to its pleasant strength and good burning characteristics, this tobacco is also for pipe smokers that aren't too experienced. A delight for any tobacco lover that just wants to gain some experiences with plug tobaccos without getting overwhelmed by their strength. Not too strong, but also not too mild, not too sweet, but also not too spicy. All in all a well balanced and simply tasty blend. The Kraterplug is a perfect companion for the classic Kraterflakes.
Virginia/Kentucky/Perique at its best!

Tin note is very lite some earthy sweetness. This is a solid plug that need to be shaved and cut up for the best smoking experience. So prepare for some time in preparation. Defiantly Virginia forward with citrus notes and just the slightest bit of barbeque. The Kentucky grounds it with a slight sweet earthy flavor. Honestly I was a bit apprehensive about the strength of this blend. At first it started out quite strong and with little taste. Once I got to the 1/3 bowl there was a dramatic change and all the flavors began to appear. Citrus, sweet molasses, a bit of barbeque that is more pronounced, and spiciness form the perique. The nic hit is medium to strong. Not sure I could handle this all day but a super nice smoke. 3.5 stars
