Cornell & Diehl Old Court
(2.60)
An honorable mixture of burley and Latakia, spiced with a prudent amount of perique, and sweetened with a conservative touch of broken Virginia flake, this blend should serve you well when there's plenty on the docket.

Cornell & Diehl - Old Court.
Please remember this is only MY opinion. LOL, you may smoke it and extrapolate a completely different view! However, for what it's worth, I don't like it!
The majority of it's medium ribbons but I can see a few rather coarse pieces. There's more brown tobaccos than black. The aroma suggests natural, raw, tobacco; it isn't sweet, or fragrant. My tin's too dry.
The Latakia's the main player, but it doesn't hog the flavour with a bitter smokiness. The Burley prevents it from doing so, by giving a coarse, austere, ruggedness to the smoke. These two are running the show, the others take a lighter stance. The Perique raises its head as the bowl's smoked. I'm not talking a spice-bomb, but it gives a vinegary touch as the smoke progresses; this is quite unpleasant and reduces the rating. I struggle to identify the Virginia and black Cavendish; the other leaves have enough fortitude to keep these restrained. The burn from it's of a poor quality. It goes fast and too warm.
Nicotine: above medium. Room-note: not nice.
Old Court? I don't like it and I won't recommend it:
One star.
