The toasted red Virginia has a light tangy dark fruitiness and earth, and is mostly a secondary player. The woody, dry, fairly buttery sweet and tart, sour Turkish is evident in every puff in a support role. The dry, mildly sharp and earthy white burley provides some body, though its not always obvious to the tongue. The spicy, raisiny perique lurks in the background. The smoky, woody sweet Cyprian latakia stands out a step more than the other components, and never drowns them out. The strength starts out in the center of mild to medium and gets closer to medium as you go along. The nic-hit is a shade past the mild level. Won’t bite or get harsh. Burns cool and clean at a moderate pace with a lightly creamy, more smoky flavor, though it does seem to lose just a tad of its sweetness towards the finish as the dry, sour note from the Turkish becomes a touch more obvious. That particular interplay happens a few times during the experience. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Has a pleasant after taste. Can be an all day smoke. More of a two and a half star blend.
