The gold Virginia is lightly grassy and citrusy while the red Virginia provides some dark fruit and earth as both varietals form the base of the blend. The red is a little more obvious. The nutty, molasses sweet burley offers able support. The sugary black cavendish may have a little vanilla as it underscores the experience. The vanilla and mild spice toppings have some richness, and are more noticeable than the cocoa. While they tone down the tobaccos a little, they tend to work in tandem to create a fairly smooth, very consistent flavor from start to finish. The nic-hit is mild. The strength is mild, and the taste level is a step above that. Won’t bite or get harsh even when pushed. Burns at a moderate pace, cool and clean, and burns to ash with few relights. Leaves little moisture in the bowl. Has a pleasantly sweet and mildly spicy after taste and room note. Can easily be an all day smoke.

Villiger - Original Export.
I had Robert McConnel's Original Oriental in mind when I popped this, so thought it was a similar type of blend. Wrongo! An Oriental it isn't!
My pouch contains hardly any black pieces, the ingredients are mainly medium and dark browns. They're a touch coarser than a standard ribbon, with an intriguing sweet, nutty, aroma. The moisture's just right.
The smoke has quite a formidable amount of additives, and tastes a little 'naughty'! The flavour: there's sweet Burley, deep Virginias, but mine tastes more like a brown Cavendish, as opposed to black. The flavourings work well together: there's a gentle spiciness, but this is smoothed and tamed by chocolate, caramel and vanilla. It burns at quite a slow speed, creating a cool smoke. But, for me, it can be a bit of a biter.
Nicotine: maybe a jot above mild. Room-note: nice.
Villiger Original Export? A nice tasting smoke, but not a good enough blend to have four stars. Recommended:
Three stars.
