The Country Squire Tobacconist Black Arrow

Velvety black cavendish tobacco, blended with care. Great as a gentle smoke on its own, or as a blending tobacco. Black Arrow has been a house favorite for decades.

I was expecting a blend reminiscent of BCA, Captain Black Dark, PS201, etc. Compared to those blends, this blend had almost no flavor at all.
I could smoke this slow, hot, fast, huge clouds, whatever, and I only ever got a hint of the vanilla, which instantly vanished. Like the tobacco flavors are only available as a whisper on the wind instead of in the bowl.
I bought 1/4 pound of this and I am smoking this brand new, so I'll definitely come back to it after a few months in the jar. But this did not meet expectations.
UPDATE - 2023-05-10 I have been smoking this blend pretty regularly for almost half a year now. This is my standard blend for walking around the neighborhood because it behaves rather well needing only 1 or 2 relights in my cob, it's mild, it's rather inoffensive, and the smoke doesn't seem to stick on me at all.
I know how to smoke this blend now. With BCA-like blends, smoke low and slow to get the most out of the flavor. This blend doesn't really have anything going on at the low end of the temperature range. This blend likes constant puffing. You don't have to smoke like a train, but this blend will let you. The flavor vanishes really quickly, so a puff every 3 or 5 seconds or so will let you discover the profile. I don't take huge drags because this blend is best with the temperature in the midrange.
It won't bite. There are no edges. There's almost no nicotine in this blend.
Revising up to 3 stars now that I know how to get at it. I'm happy I have it, but I probably won't re-up because I like BCA better.
