Straight Up English was Cornell & Diehl's very first Small Batch blend: An English blend done the traditional way. No topping. No added flavors. Red and bright Virginias and a healthy dose of Latakia. Straight Up.
Notes: A limited production with 17% latakia, red and bright Virginias, a pinch of white burley, and no topping.
Original Tin Copy: Straight Up English is exactly what it sounds like: an English blend done the traditional way. No topping. No added flavors. Just red and bright Virginias, a pinch of white Burley, and a healthy dose of Latakia. Straight Up.

A friend of mine who hangs out at the tobacco shop on Merrimon Avenue just got this and rather strangely gave me his entire tin... So I smoked a few bowls. Now I know he was not being generous(!), because so far (4 bowls into it) this is pretty bland, cigarette-like even. So I looked at the description and I saw there was Burley. Well, that's fine but don't call your blend "straight up" English. The packaging, the name tries to convey authenticity, but a traditional English blend does not include Burley. At best this is a misnomer, which wouldn't matter so much were it not so bland.
