To get in the spirit of the season, I’m smoking Creeper of the Corn in a meerschaum billiard for the first smoke of October.

This and Newminster #400 are some of the better values in Virginia flakes.

I’m continuing to smoke Orlik Golden Sliced in various pipes since yesterday. I’ve been distracted with a lot to do and it’s just working great for that, although I did slip in some Peter Stokebye PS81 late last night.

I’m still sticking with Orlik Golden Sliced, right now I’m smoking it in my TV churchwarden.

I’m still only smoking Orlik Golden Sliced in various different pipes. I will probably stick with it until this tin is done. There are only a couple flakes left.

Burlington Reserve (H. Simmons) with Rattray's. I don't really like this tobacco, that's why I always smoke it in this little pipe.

As I told you last month, that pipe is beautiful.

I wanted to ask you...does the curved shape combined with the length of the mouthpiece generate more humidity than other pipes with other shapes and shorter mouthpieces? I have a couple of pipes with those characteristics that create more problems with humidity than the others.

Thanks! Between the meerschaum bowl and the natural gourd body of the pipe it smokes very dry and cool. The gourd absorbs most of the moisture. In fact, when I run a pipe cleaner through the stem after smoking it, it usually isn’t even damp.
