Peter Heinrich’s Dark Strong Flake, which is neither particularly dark or strong, but a nice smoke either way, in an Andreas Bauer calabash.

Lol. I totally understand being a fan of KBV! In fact I just loaded up a Peterson churchwarden with some Oriental Affair. I’ve been thinking about it since I mentioned it in your KBV thread.

Oriental Affair is really good! KBV had me digging through smokingpipes and tobaccopipes looking for orientals that may have went under my radar lol Cheers, Sir!

Smoking some B. Frog's Peaty Hunt right now! Did you get a chance to pick some up? It's pretty tasty, Sir!

I have not had any HU tobaccos! I've been on Esterval's site numerous times and filled my cart but, never pulled the trigger. Is that still the best place to get them?Last I heard the was shipping was unpredictable too. I'm sure it's well worth the wait though. Just curious. Cheers!

Estervals is the primary place I’ve purchased from, but there have been others. I never had a problem with orders in the past, even ones of 60-70 tins. However my last order of about 30 tins about 6 months ago got captured by US customs and they wanted me to prove I was a commercial tobacco dealer, which is ridiculous. I opted to have it returned to Estervals. They offered to re-ship but I decided not to bother. I know of two other people who had very similar experiences, but upon re-shipping by Estervals, they both received their orders. The cost of shipping makes only larger orders viable in my view. If you buy 3 tins, it works out to $12 per tin but if you buy 40, it only costs about $1 per tin, plus the prices are often 30% cheaper than US prices for the same items. They carry a lot of good stuff that I just can’t find anywhere else.

Awesome! Thank you for all the info. I think I'll give it a try. Been waiting to try some HU tobaccos for some time. 70 tins?!? I feel like you might as well be a commercial dealer 😂 As always, I appreciate you, Sir!

This discussion of Estervals had me go to their site. And of course, I couldn't leave empty handed. Although I didn't order a pile of tins. There's only so much room in the townhouse, and the wife insists that I leave her some space.

Thanks! It’s an earlier in the day smoke for me also, when I can appreciate all of its subtleties and nuances before my sense of taste and smell have become dulled through the day. It’s really good stuff.

B. Frog’s Cajun Safari in a cob. It's ok. Just an easy smoking Va/Per with nothing that really stands out. Cheers!

Talking about German tobacco is guiding my smoking menu for today. Right now I’m smoking St. Bernard in a TV churchwarden.

I cracked a tin yesterday of HU Tobacco Dockworker. Absolutely delicious, as all HU blends I’ve tried so far. A great Burley flake discretely spiced with Orientals.

I’ll keep up the German tobacco vibe. I’m smoking HU Krater Plug in my new to me Brebbia Twin 3.

It’s similar to a number of blends but I’m having a hard time putting my finger on one. I’m smoking a lighter Virginia right now and my brain isn’t allowing me to fully think of the flavor! 🙂

I've been mostly smoking a Milan custom blend which is a simulacrum of the old Briggs mixture. And mostly using my Peterson Killarney 406s.

When not smoking the Milan blend, I'm smoking Sutliff Match Holiday in a City de Luxe pot or a GBD Celebrity 357 (prince).

Having a bowl of Opening Night, in a 4th generation. I think this blend doesn’t get enough attention, which is okay with me.

I’m loving Ashton Artisan’s Blend! Plenty of flavours to get your tongue around. Simply delicious! Bought it for the first time last week, after my trip to Germany. I fear 100g just isn’t enough to last until my next trip!

Smoking in a BriarWorks classic, which was an absolute bargain, all things considered.

Murray’s era Erinmore Flake in a my new to me Brebbia Twin 3. How I wish I had more of this, just half a tin left. The Murray’s Erinmore Mixture has been gone for a while now.
