  • New Piper Advice Requested:

Let us suppose you have a jar of tobacco that you have nearly finished.

You go to your local tobacconist, and buy a few more ounces of the same tobacco.

Is it all right to dump the newly purchased tobacco in with the old - in the same jar - or do you put it in a new jar without mixing them?

I’ve no doubt I’m over thinking this, but there may be a sound reason not to mix old and new.

In the instance you’re describing, I would just add the tobacco to the jar. The only times I won’t just add into existing jar remnants are when I’m opening tins from different production or dates.

Probably i would empty the jar, put the new one and then put back the old one so the first in will be the first out. Only that.

3rd option: Put it in and shake it up. 😂
