Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) Sweet Dublin Irish Whisky (Yellow)
(2.67)
Sweet Dublin is a modern Danish mixture with a sweet flavour. Our tobacco blenders have selected a range of high grade Virginia tobaccos and black cavendish for this mixture. This mixture was finalized with Irish whiskey added to its flavour.
Notes: Now relabeled Special Dublin. Originally an Orlik branded production

This was an impulse purchase several years back on a business trip for a casual smoke. It turned out well. To get down to a description, the metallic pouch opens up to mixture of short, light and dark brown ribbons and perhaps 15% black cavendish. The pouch note has some mild Virginia notes and a whiff of whiskey, Irish of course. The pouch says Body=3 (medium), Aromatic taste=2 (light), Room note=2 (light) and that’s about right except body is more a step towards mild. I let it air out a bit although it was smokesble out of the pouch. This is a higher end aromatic with good leaf. Sweet but not too sweet with a bit of the whiskey coming through to the palate as well as some tobacco taste. There is a touch of honey applied to this as welll. It did not bite, smoke hit, or wet the pipe. The mouthfeel has some body and creaminess, I think from the black cavendish and probably from some white burley (although not a listed component). I think long ago this tobacco was sold in the US. If it were to return I would get some occasionally for when I want a no fuss, light aromatic based on good leaf. For reference to my tastes in this area, Amphora Black Cavendish usually serves that role now. I see that it has been renamed Special Dublin since I made my purchase.

Bag note is quite sweet with the whiskey topping. nice ribbon cut packs easily. I think my pouch has been in the shop for a while as it still has the older name sweet Dublin. The toppings are a bit faded. This I found quite nice . I was able to taste the Virginias followed by the black cavendish. Required a few relights . Surprisingly I found this to be a lite aeromantic not overdosed with toppings. Not sure I would smoke this all day but its defiantly a nice easy mild smoke. Nic hit is very mild. Would be a great smoke for someone just starting. 3 stars
