POUL WINSLOW Winter Edition
(2.00)
A dazzling, beautiful winter mixture, convincing with its inner values. Various gold to brown shaded Virginia tobaccos are refined with black cavendish and nutty burley. This exquisite fundament is delicately merged with white chocolate, caramel and dried fruits in this wonderful mixture. (approximate translation)

Winslow Winter Edition is manufactured by Kohlhase & Kopp, just like the others from this series, which I like among aromatics. Similarities are not surprising, even expected.
The plentiful selected flavorings lead to a fruity, candy sweet tin note and a balanced, not so much complex potpourri while smoked. The added flavor is nice, not too artificial/chemical and leaves a very pleasant room note. It’s present mostly until finish, accompanied by some roasted/toasty noes in the fourth quarter. Tobacco taste is not very pronounced, however, there is a bit of spiciness in the background. This more Perique (not in the mix, just descriptive purpose) than VA like spiciness is what keeps the mixture interesting enough for the morning hours, especially when smoked using a carbon filter. I don’t recommend a filter with this. Drawing harder to get more of the taste will lead to some moisture and gurgle.
Purists will say it’s flavored cardboard and I personally find it to mild to be satisfactory after noon, being rather nicotine sensitive. Buy the expensive tin for the super nice art painting and for decorative purposes, not so much for the smoke. Winter Edition is not a bad aromatic, just not worth the extra effort & money I think.
