Summary: a sweet English with too much goop on the Cavendish, more smooth than spicy.
Among blenders competition to produce a sweet English has reached great intensity. People love their English blends, but want the tangy Latakia toned down a bit and the mixture sweetened, more like the big sellers like Orlik "Golden Sliced" and Peter Stokkebye "Luxury Bullseye Flake." If you can make a blend taste like breakfast cereal, you win a big audience. Svendborg tones down the Latakia and makes a smooth mixture with sweetened Cavendish, giving it a faint maple syrup flavor, but may have gone overboard with that. The spicy piquant flavor which makes an English so much fun is gone, replaced by a tangy sweet smoky flavor more like barbecue sauce. This is not bad, but not exceptional, and remarkably inferior to the best sweet Englishes like Dunhill "My Mixture 965."
