Carey's - Old Belt Virginia.
This was surprising! I was expecting your 'run of the mill' Virginia tobacco, so the word excitement wasn't at the front of my mind but upon the first puff I was instantly impressed by the deep flavour. The Virginia is without a doubt the main player but it doesn't swamp the taste as can often occur with Va blends! The other tastes aren't as prevalent, you do have to look more for them and it isn't too simple to decipher each taste but what I do get is a wonderful soft and slightly smoky undercurrent. I find this to have a good amount of "N", it won't blow your brains out but it is easy to notice. The burn has remained consistent all the way through and the smoke doesn't bite me any. The room note is exactly as you would expect from a Virginia based blend, not great, not bad, just basic.
I think this would make a great 'go to' tobacco.
