Carey's Balkan Special.
The blend itself consists of mostly very dark tobacco pieces, there's only a small proportion of lighter pieces in the mix. There is no problem with hydration, absolutely spot on! The aroma, to be fair, isn't what would lead me to think 'Lat Bomb', yes it's present but not a huge whack in the face of the smoky Lat'.
I get it lit up and straight away find the flavour reminiscent of the aroma, again the Latakia is present but it's not too selfish with taste, it gives a 'soft' smoky addition leaving room for the other tastes to come through. There is a good sour note from the Orientals with a noticeable grassy note from the Virginia's. This isn't a biter! No matter how vigorous I am it doesn't even nip me! The room note slightly resembles Squadron Leader however it is no where near as smoky smelling!
Nicotine: medium. Room-note: pleasant.
Four stars.
