Carey's Old - English Ready Rubbed.
The mixture is mainly smaller pieces of tobacco, most of which are less than half a C.M in length. It is quite consistent in colour, all a medium brown with only a tiny amount of lighter pieces. It has a typical Virginia aroma with a slight musky note to it.
Lighting this? Fabulous! Not long at all is a requisite with the lighter and once lit the taste is a good one. The smoke could deceive me into thinking this isn't a straight Virginia blend, there is a gentle caramel-esc flavour that imminently conjures up the thought of Burley. The burn is steady, it doesn't need many re-lights, all along giving a mid' temperature smoke. The flavour remains the same throughout, no fluctuations but a steady Virginia with a slight caramel touch. Nicotine, a medium amount that doesn't blast your head off! The room note is a straight forward Virginia one, gaining merit as it isn't too heavy. I think this would make a fantastic 'go to' smoke, it's not too flash, not too boring and packs an adequate amount of "N".
Three stars.
