Admiral's Choice Natural Cavendish is a best-seller that is a mild-to-medium blend of Cavendish tobaccos with a rich but modest liquor topping. It is well balanced and not overly cased, making it an ideal all-day smoke.
Notes: Admiral's Choice pipe tobaccos are manufactured by Dream Castle Tobacco Company, a division of Sutliff Tobacco Company. Pipesandcigars.com and CigarsInternational.com are now the exclusive online and catalog retailer of these blends, though they can be found in retail outlets also.

Attractive and eye catching label, good flavor and I didn't catch a bite. A old-fashion smoke that doesn't demand much, just cool burning. Soft vevelty clouds of smoke. Starts out sweet then tapers off. A slight citrus note throughout then the sweetness appears every now and then. Very noticeable in a cob. I can definitely taste the virginias (slight vinegar taste which doesn't ruin or dominate the flavor) and a hint of Turkish. Just an occasional tamper is all that's needed. I'm suprised by this budget blend, it's fine quality leaf for a drug store brand. Reminds one of Kentucky Club's Continental Blend w/o the heavy coconut flavor. As well as Alexander Bridge. Room note is a cross between maple, coffee and toasted coconut--well balanced overall. Far better than Blender's Gold NC. It's a smoke this while doing something else blend. Not overly cased and good cut. I think some of the less favorable reviews might be by those who lean more on the aromatic side. Non-aromatics may be new to the tongue. I found a good cleaning of the pipe and a little airing out is all that's required to reap the benefits from ACNC. This a great one for blending or seasoning your pipe with. One final thought, any blend you purchase in a tobacco shop is purchased over the counter. So the idea that OTC blends are inferior is only half true. I found great blends in a drug store and sometimes I found bad blends that I bought through the internet. If you find a blend that's economical and you like it then stick with it. Tins are better overall for quality and moisture. Bulk bags are a toss up and are prone to overcasing and contain more bite if not allowed to air out. Vanilla and Cherry bulks tend to be the worst offenders.
