Sutliff Tobacco Co. - State Fair.
I don't particularly like apple as a tobacco flavouring, but this isn't too bad!
In the pouch black Cavendish accounts for much less of S.F. than the brown Virginia and Burley. It's a little too moist, but exactly detrimental to the smoke. It has a mild aromatic smell.
The apples are only really notable at the beginning, after this the toffee-sweetness gains weight. Of the tobaccos, like the appearance suggested, the black Cavendish is way behind the others. The leading natural taste is the Burley, followed by the Virginia. The black Cav' smoothes the smoke, but doesn't dominate. The burn from it's good, needing very few re-lights, going at a medium pace, and giving a cool smoke.
Nicotine: mild to medium. Room-note: pleasant.
State Fair? Surprisingly I'll recommend it:
Three stars.

Very nice tin note. While I do not exactly smell apples, there is a fruity sweetness with a bit of alcohol in the background.
Appearance of mostly light and darker brown tobacco, with a minor addition of black cavendish. Even and uniformly cut, this packs well and lights with ease. The moisture is perfect for immediate smoking.
If I didn't know this was an apple aromatic, I probably couldn't have told you what it was. But the fact that I know what it's called, does help me decern a slight fruity apple "brightness" not unlike a honeycrisp apple. This is one of the best tasting apple blends out. My first pipeful was Middleton's Apple back in 1991 (wasn't of age yet. lol) and this doesn't have the bite Middleton's did. It also doesn't have that sour mustiness that C&D's Apples and Cream does, which is off-putting to me.
The first third is fruity and sweet. As the bowl progresses, the fruit notes stay, but the sweetness slowly subsides and opens up to more of a natural tobacco flavor profile.
Room note is sweet, toasty, and very pleasant. This is a great Aromatic from Sutliff, a solid 3.5 stars.
