Another step in my journey to find a tobacco I enjoy to smoke and my wife enjoys to smell. She loves pumpkin spice stuff, so I figured I’d give this a shot. First, I’ll say, right up front, this wasn’t amazing. Just middle of the road. With that, I’ll let you know what I noticed. I will say I did pick up nice pumpkin spice flavors throughout the first half of the smoke; both in my mouth and in the room. The cavendish came through with a dark sweetness. Other than these few notes, I didn’t pick up much. The majority of the smoke was just there; which I suppose would be a bonus, if you are sitting out back talking to your wife and not trying to contemplate the subtleties of the burning weed in your bowl. For me, this is mediocre. It is just there, with a little pumpkin spice on top.

Sutliff pumpkin spice... Really was bland and I was disappointed with this blend. The scent of the bag was cinnamon nutmeg, but the smoke was just no real distinguished flavor. The beginning of the smoke had a spicey note but was not a good strong spice. This tobacco just falls way to short of the hopes of having a good pumpkin pie blend for those mild autumn evenings. So for that it gets my lowest rating ever. Probably a 2 star but since it stunk so bad for pumpkin blend it gets a 1 star.

I was skeptical, but wanted to give a pumpkin spice a go for the heck of it.

It came at a pretty decent moisture level. If you pack the bowl and leave it for five minutes it's perfect.

Takes a light nicely. It burns evenly and I'll say it stays burning pretty cool. It isn't goopy at all.

The initial flavor off the lighting is pretty strong on the pumpkin spice, as with most aromatics. After a few puffs it mellows out. The nuttiness of the Burley and sweet fig like flavors of the Virginia come forward from time to time. The casing comes through as a nice pace. I've mostly gotten a pumpkin cheesecake taste. It's not overly sweet.

The room note is nice. I've been complimented on it a few times already.

If you're a fan of aromatics and are looking for a nice fall seasonal blend give this one a go.

Package note of cinnamon, banana liquor, and mild allspice. Tobacco is rough cut black and dark brown. Very wet and sticky, needs extensive drying. Burns slow with many relights. The strength is mild and nic is mild. Flavoring is medium, with notes of cinnamon, sweet liquor, and spices. Flavor stays long into the smoke. Taste is mild to medium and very consistent, with notes of toasted marshmallow, wood, spiced bread, sweet, dry earth, floral, herbal vegetation, nuts, molasses, zest, tart dark fruit, orange peel, tangy stewed fruit, a brown sugar background note, and a smooth retro. Cavendish and Flavoring are leading with Burley and Virginia supporting. Room note is pleasant, and aftertaste is good.

Of course, I was expecting to taste a slice of pumpkin pie. And, of course, I did not. But that’s not a bad thing. This blend is very nice, especially after cellaring it for some months. The pumpkin comes through with slight touches of spice. This really helps define the flavor and meld with the tobacco. No bite, and it burned very well.

Smoking now:

All jokes aside I am drinking a pumpkin spiced coffee while doing this.

The bag note is, well pumpkin spice. It has a fruity alcohol type note with the usual pumpkin spice notes however it’s light and not obnoxious. This is wet. It comes as a wet sticky aromatic that’ll coat your fingers. Slight crackle when lighting. No dry time.

The taste is very mild. No discernible tobacco flavors. Sugar, sweet, some cinnamon, nutmeg flavors. The pumpkin spice flavor is mild. Creamy mouth feel, retrohale is ok and you’ll pick up more of the topping. Speaking of that it sticks around to the half way point. After that it doesn’t get harsh and stays a mild and sweet smoke. Couldn’t tell you if the room note is pumpkin spice but I imagine it’s not offensive. Wafting the smoke towards me I could tell it was mild and sweet. I’ll smoke this along with my other fall aromatics all season when I’m around others. A mild, non offensive smoke, that didn’t bite or become unwelcome. Smoked well enough for an aromatic with no complaints of it being too wet, hard to keep lite, or too hot.

Recommended if you want a mild aromatic that’s not offensive, sweet, good flavor, and can be repeated though out the day.

It is what it is. Pumpkin Spice hits the flavor right on the head. I'm not much of a aromatic smoker but this stuff ain't half bad! I tried it on whim and was pleasantly surprised. It's not wet or gooey and the toppings are applied with a light touch. Pumpkin Spice is mild in strength and soft in flavor with no tongue bite and a lingering, pleasant after taste. I'm not going to jump up and order a pound of it but I do believe I'll be smoking more of it from time to time.

Sutliff's Pumpkin Spice - On Tuesday September 21, 2021 – I revisited Sutliff Pumpkin Spice pipe tobacco. I had purchased this aromatic 2 oz bulk in preparation of smoking some of it during the upcoming 2019 season and cellaring the remainder for next season. The cellaring method was a small glass mason jar stored in a cool dry place. The initial Char light was smooth but I did have to re-lite several times to establish the initial ember. The introductory taste was very pleasant with a light sweet flavor and pleasantly sweet room note. It took about five re-lights to get an acceptable ember going and the flavor/smoke stayed very cool and smooth through the bowl. I found this blend to be cool burning smoke with absolutely no tongue bite and no gurgle from excessive moisture. It required a few relights after the ember was established. I was drinking cold water coke at the time of the smoke which may have added slightly to the overall sweetness of the experience. Overall I would give this blend a 2.5 out of 4 stars for my taste. It was a pleasant smoking experience and this is a blend that I look forward to smoking in the future, especially during the holiday season.

Because of the relight issue, I may let it dry about 15 minutes next time out.

This seasonal-focused recipe stands with a dark complexion of elegantly trimmed Virginia ribbon mottled with delightful tufts of coarse cut Burley and Black Cavendish.

A sweet fragrant parade of assorted spice dominates the rather colorful nose. With the ensuing registration I get a characterization of whole pumpkin of course, bitter cinnamon, all spice, and a little kiss of mint. Burning cool without any trace of bite, the taste profile is largely showcased by the Great Pumpkin as one would expect. It is deliciously accented by a mix of sweeter churned spiciness, brown sugar/honey, vanilla, and a little happy zest from the cinnamon.

Not much to speak of on the native tobacco. The room note imparted is rather light and pleasantly sweet. This initial tasting seems to indicate a suitability of feel for the fall season. One bowl in, mind you, not stellar yet enjoyable all the same.
